I have a paint chip from a stone at the front of my MG4, next to the light cluster.

I’ve got the car in Blue and live in the UK. Anyone know where I can get the official touch up paint?

Thank you.

I'm afraid it will likely be one of many to come. I was jet washing my black car the other day and a stone chip on the drivers side front wheel arch trebled in size before my eyes, went from barely noticeable to VERY noticeable :(

Really, really thin and not very well adhered paint on this car it would seem, passenger side is fine as it doesn't get the flying stones from passing cars .
I can see a driver's side respray with some decent paint thickness being required if I end up keeping it a few more years.

Seems that some cars have terrble paintwork and others are fine. I've only had a couple of paint chips in 20,000 miles. I have a feeling it's mainly the black cars people have been complaining about.

I have an orange xpower which has the tri-colour paint (optional extra) no chips so far but only 1500kms. The paint finish is very good.

When washing ERO recently I noticed his first (and only) paint chip ... before washing it wasn't even noticeable. This is after 2 years 4 months and 9.5k miles.

I've have quite a few little chips here and there ( car is December 22 registered) and today I've spotted a weird little lump on the front, almost like the metal has bubbled up.

I've got the Blue paint and bought a touch up on Ebay.
I did find out MG several times with same code but give it different names.
My local Chips Away are very good.

MattyS If MG give us paint/corrosion warranty then your dealer needs to see the bump.

My blue MG4 has a couple of stone chips, a few stone dents and a scrape on the boot from storm daragh. If only it was a Cybertruck

I bought a new MX5 in 2019. It had the thinnest coat of paint of any car I've ever owned, so I hope my Hampster Grey Trophy is better!

Given it a bit more of a look, its on the bumper (plastic..phew!) so its possibly a hefty chip created by a stone or something.

With my Orange paintwork , the chips on metal bonnet have a cream undercoat and deeper ones are grey internally. On the plastic its straight through to the black of the plastic , more unsightly but less of a concern. On the bonnet hardly noticeable , but there if you look hard enough . Is a touch up Clear coat recommended after the touch up paint?

Our red has suffered more in 24000 miles than any previous car we've owned in its lifetime and we used to buy a few years old and keep till they cause trouble!

That's my observation at 32k miles, pretty battle scarred compared to other cars I've owned.

I also think that the metal thickness of the non - structural body panels is less than average, the front of the bonnet and driver's door have slight dents under a couple of large stone strikes.

Black is terrible for showing the slightest imperfection, but still :(

Maybe the grey is good for hiding such things, but mine looks fine - no worse than any of my most recent previous cars at the same age/mileage. (Black 08 plate Astra Sri estate, Black 12 plate Golf GT, Dark Blue 67 plate Insignia)

I have a pair of stone chip dints in the bonnet where the metal bent too. Not much paint lost there, almost like it bounced.
