Maybe Elon would allow him on Tesla's forum ;)

    Cars you’ve smoked ?

Guess I'm in that small age gap of being old enough to remember it, but not so old I forget things! 👵

    Tomato Energy

Hands up, sorry I did overstep things there. Ironically, my use of the word 'one' was chosen intentionally to not be personal, but in the context and a following a re-read, it doesn't read nicely or as I intended. Sorry again.

Senna and Prost, Suzuka 1990, maybe

Sure. As a consumer of Tomato's offer, one is protected and have nothing to lose from their cheap prices. Nothing to risk. £££ to gain. - I have removed some comments from here as I realise they were somewhat OTT - Apologies.

    Tomato Energy

Be aware that Tomato Energy have not been meeting their licence requirements in terms of settling their payments for demand vs. supply on the internal supply markets. AFAIAA they are now performing worse than when Ofgen raised the issue with them in 2023 - so much so that Elexon have gone...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

That makes sense then - so it's the export limit that is causing the plateau, but if you're charging the car then you can use the spare energy :)

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

Great that you're getting full sun over the whole day now. But that's a lot of clipping for this time of year! I don't see any numbers on the graph but fascinated to know what sizing of panels vs. inverter you have and whether you have any grid export limitations set? (reason for asking is...

Nooo... don't say that on here... @Coulomb will be along to edit you!!! BTW we have double lines like that too - I was just musing that we don't have those blue skies!

Ah.. don't believe everything you read on the Internet ;). Says "Just off Parramatta Rd, Sydney showing a double white solid line down the middle of the road."

    MG4 in Australia

Not sure if it is the situation in your case, but be aware there is an issue with Xenforo where posts that get merged by mods and which have (prior to the merge) been linked to, don't get those links updated. The result is broken links that go nowhere. I have been discussing this with @Rolfe...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

    (y) it certainly helps when units are made clear. My bugbear is when people use kW when they mean kWh or vice versa. Or worse still, KWH - the mind boggles what a Kelvin-Watt-Henry is a measure of?! Yes, units that are named after people should be in capitals (Ampere, Watt and Volt etc.)...

+1 for RWD. Since our first RWD car, we've had mostly RWD or AWD cars from choice. The few FWD drive cars I've had have felt kind of meh.

How about "No, MG does this". Definitely not UK. We don't have that much blue in our skies ;) Also... I don't recall seeing the little orange cats-eyes over here. And the number plates are not from UK, maybe it's from Aus or SA?

    Solar battery and V2L

FWIW, the Solis inverter's battery cables are wound around a 4" diameter ferrite ring for anti RFI purposes - like this... But, aside from any component damage concerns, I still advocate that, in a properly implemented closed-loop system, it is the BMS that should inform the inverter of the...

Recent Valuation 30% of what I paid less than 2 years years ago...!

That's fascinating and good to know you can DIY interface to the CANBus of some HV inverters - I didn't realise that. Having said that, I still wouldn't want any sizeable NMC battery near my house that is not fully enclosed in a car-sized steel container.
