Went for a walk at our local park today. The car had loads of snow on the bonnet. If there was an engine under there, it would have melted away... This picture wasn't from today...they are renovating the outside of the building, so it is clad in scaffolding and sheeting.

I say backwards as the Romans had some cracking ideas that went into disuse. My misunderstanding. It seems that preserving or reusing Roman buildings wasn't a thing way back when, so they were taken down to use the materials to construct new buildings.
