Probably won’t get an MG4 again

To avoid hijack, could you post a link here to the thread where you discuss these issues please?

Keyless start? Anyone got it working?

Just by chance I was with the car today without the key I usually carry. But I have the MG app on my phone. I only wanted to put some stuff in the car, so opened the app and tapped "unlock" on the main screen. I got in the car and sat in the passenger seat. Then I got interested and remembered...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

I totally agree with you. Despite our niggles, we like the car overall. But, especially now I have busted my ankle, I need something easier to get in and out of. And we must have a bigger boot. And possibly something a little bit more comfortable for three in the back. Taking elderly folk away...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

On my list are Scenic, Enyaq, Ioniq 5. Eldest son has excitedly added Ariya, saying his mate's Dad has got one and they are good, plus Enyaq's smaller bro, Elroq. Elroq from memory is about 4 inches shorter than Ariya but has a slightly bigger boot, and a slightly smaller wheelbase than Ariya...

driver seat steel frame hurts my back

Currently 151.3kg but was 165kg and before than closer to 170kg. 1.83m. I find the seat comfy enough, but I am a passenger, if that makes a difference. Had the car since July 23.

    Low pressure tyre warning

After many journeys where His Lordship (the car) has announced issues with the tyre pressures and Mrs Secure has a shouting fit with the car, I persuaded her to go to a filling station and I pumped up the tyres to 2.6 bar all round. Then we went for a drive until all the amber dash warning...

    Upgrade of house main fuse

Retired now, but been to many installations where the intake fuse had blown due to being constantly overloaded, if only by a small margin, but eventually, the fuse has failed. It's not dangerous, but it is damn inconvenient! Norweb (to become United Utilities, then Electricity North West...

    A good alternative EV

I admit, I wasn't a Vauxhall guy, but I did lust after the Lotus Carlton. And I did briefly own a 79 Opel Rekord. Not that the Rekord was comparable!

    A good alternative EV

That'll be the Roy Axe car from 89. From memory there were two Honda 1.6s, A SOHC and a DOHC. I agree with you, these cars were little crackers. Basically a Roverised Honda Concerto. And yes, much as I liked the S series lump, the Honda motor was better.

    A good alternative EV

I was a Leyland kind of guy. Maxi, Ital, 2x Metro, 1x Maestro 2 x Monty estate, one petrol, one Perkins. A R111, R414. I really wanted a first gen R800, but never got there.

I thought the van engine were the same as the car...low compression so wouldn't have thought it would have made a great deal of difference.

There were a whole host of really likeable, chuckable warm hatches in the 80s: the 5, Metro, 127, XR2, 205, Golf, Astra, AX. Sadly, never got to drive a 6R4 .....

Croxdale MG - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

To me, that's a well dodgy, outdated practice! The sort of thing that dealers used to do at the end of the month to get a few extra sales over the line to hit a manufacturer's target. I know the pre-reg bit may strictly be legal, but with-holding the logbook? How does that even work?

    Funny signs, graffiti etc. ?

There is, of course, a very old and not very PC joke about the stewardess serving hot drinks on a TWA flight. I do not want any naughty boy points, so I'm sure you can work it out. If you can't, you can look it up using Mr Google.

RRG MG Stockport - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

I've had driving licence shenanigans from dealers before... Went to test drive a car at a very well known VW dealer and the sales guy took the DL and disappeared for ages. We were effectively hostages. Ended up demanding it back after 25 minutes and stormed out. Made a complaint to head...
