Honest review of the MG4 XPower

It isn't really a car that appeals to me so doubt I will find out.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

Might be just an XPower thing but the figure on my Trophy is normally pretty accurate. Obviously it can't predict the future but it normally isn't far off.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

I'm confused here, are you for or against the XPower? The MG4 is not a city car, it is a small family car, the same size as a Golf.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

I don't get why they put the 64kWh battery in it, surely the 77kWh would have made more sense.

WHich is going to be my best buy (MG4)

I think the bigger battery gives you flexibility on a journey. I have a long range (64 kWh) and yesterday I did an airport run, 59 miles round trip, nearly all motorway at 60 to 70mph, about 3 degrees and used 27% battery so that is about 218 miles range, which I think is pretty good in winter.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

Just had a look and actually the top of the handle is about a third of the way along the door and the bottom is about half way along, probably why I've never noticed it.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

I had the FN2 for five years from new, fun car when I was younger, just a shame the suspension was made from concrete.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

I had a Type R as well, mad to think that my MG4 Trophy has the same power output and it's considered just ordinary.

It always felt like I was climbing into my Kia Sportage I had previously.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

I've parked in plenty of tight spaces and just use the handles on the door to stop it swinging open with no issues, the only time I grab the outside edge is if I'm in a really tight space so I don't touch the car next to me.

Honest review of the MG4 XPower

Interesting read. I've always had fairly new cars so can compare my Trophy to those, and my experience is a bit different. The infortainment system, while not being great is perfectly usable, I tend to use Android Auto so don't really mess with it much. Seats, I find them very comfortable but...

Exactly, it wasn't even a consideration when I purchased my car.

New MG4 EV Urban - Now on MG website.

I don't have enough knowledge about if a heat pump is really worth it in a UK EV, but I think I would take it with a pinch of salt if a company that has decided they aren't going to fit them tells me they aren't needed.

    Autocar review - MG4 EV (2026)

That is the advertised price, it's been easy to get an MG4 Trophy for £24,000. I'm sure there will be some big discounts very soon.
