Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

They are doing well. They previously pissed off the pensioners with the fiasco over the winter fuel payments and now they've done over EV owners and landlords.

    MG S5 EV Handover Checklist?

Not really. I know a number of MG4s and a few MGS5s had the loose terminal problem but I think the message has got through to most dealers to check it during PDI but it's worth checking the terminals are tight just for peace of mind.

    MG S5 EV Handover Checklist?

Check the tailgate opens to its fullest extent and closes gently then does a final lock Check the tyre pressures I believe the latest infotainment software is R25 As you're coming from an MG4 don't forget to unbind your old car Obviously check for any damage Enjoy the drive home then sit in...

Picked the new car up today

My 3 year service plan costs about the same and also includes a courtesy car or collection/delivery from home, MOT and free puncture repairs. My hand-over was a only long enough to do the paperwork but I'd had a 4 hour test drive a few months earlier and my previous car was the MG4 so I knew...

Horn sounds when locking the car with the boot open

You need to get the dealer to look at that. I've just tried stopping mine from opening and it stops opening with very little pressure.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

My 2.0l diesel Focus was £245 and my mates 2.0l diesel Mondeo is £20. I know. My Ford Focus would average 28 mpg and a lot of EV owners will get more than 3 miles/kWh.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

Before you sell your EV here are some back of fag packet maths. Assuming you get 50 mpg out of your petrol car which equals 11 miles per litre. At the moment the average cost per litre of petrol is £1.36 which equals 12.36p/mile. An EV getting 3 miles per kWh which costs 7.5p/kWh equals...

    Winter range...

Using it for short journeys especially in cold weather is probably why the range has dropped as you are heating the car's cabin from cold multiple time as opposed when you do a long journey and the internal temperature only has to be heated up once and then kept at a constant temperature. The...

    Bored ?..... do this !

My brother's daughter found a banana skin under the driver's seat of her father's car when she was helping him clean it ready for their annual holiday to Brittany. She then found out the last time her father had eaten a banana in the car was on the previous year's holiday which would explain...

Brand new s5 boot opening problems

It seems to be a common calibration issue or as in your case the mechanism has "set" with a lack of use and owners are discovering a few different ways of curing the problem. Let the dealer know how you've fixed it so hopefully they will report back to MG and include the check in the PDI.
