MG UK Mil Discount - 4 LR Trophy £23,365.75

Have they definitely sorted 'the vibe' on later models do you know or is it just anecdotal evidence doing the rounds ? I'm trying not to imagine you saying that through clenched teeth ?

    Uneven wear on brake discs.

Yes it helps, but it shouldn't be necessary if the caliper designers had done their job correctly. Single piston calipers are a compromise and are built to meet a price point but all the other cars I've owned including Ev's managed to apply fairly even pressure on their outer pads. SAIC's...

    Uneven wear on brake discs.

I tinker with everything on it. ? it's just in my nature so I've pretty much given up on claiming on the warranty anyway, fingers crossed that I won't ever need to. SE SR on a 72 plate. Plain Jane single pot sliding calipers all round on mine for sure. Do any MG 4's have multi piston stoppers...

    Uneven wear on brake discs.

That would be nice as it's a far better solution but it's definitely not the case on my model :(

    Uneven wear on brake discs.

Handbrake stays off once you select it, I make sure I keep my fingers well clear of any possible problems in the (highly unlikely) scenario of it activating though  Piston is wind back. As a further update - The tweaked spring side is lightly rattling over rough roads  so I...

    Uneven wear on brake discs.

The uneven wear on my rear discs was getting really bad after 2 winters and 25k miles so I thought I'd try to figure out what was causing it. Having stripped the brakes down, it was obvious that the sliding part of the caliper wasn't pulling the outer pad evenly against the disc, the inner disc...

    V2L not working.

Thanks for the replies, after I posted I had another look and I had indeed failed to move the slider for the discharge settings as YaR suggested, basic mistake :giggle: Boiled a kettle and drew 2.3kW so that'll do for camping in comfort. Nice to have done it for a couple of pounds for a strip...

    V2L not working.

Made my own vehicle to load cable by using the supplied granny chargers type 2 socket and lead and popping a 13a socket on the end. Swapped the existing resistor for a 470 ohm and gave it a try. Recognises it as a v2l cable but wont output anything, cycles the locking motor a few times, then...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

I predict that your expectations will be met ;) Looking at the 'service' list, it's pretty annoying to think that they'll happily take money from you for that list of nonsense but almost certainly do nothing about 'the vibes'

    Power consumption at motorway speed

They're definitely very prone to efficiency drop as speed rises. Just basic physics of course but a slippery shape like a model 3 or first gen Ionic does much better. Got 5.1 on a 20 mile journey yesterday, stuck behind a car and caravan mostly at 50 mph. Was utterly bored but quietly impressed...

    New 12.3" infotainment in Thailand

I'm not sure how reduced power and battery capacity can be seen as an upgrade ? As for the larger screen, no thanks. This fashion for sticking touchscreens atop the dashboard has never won me over, the MG 4 10.25" one is at least small enough that it's not too dominating.

    Battery health after 1 year?

Which I would imagine is total nonsense. LFP cells tend to lose a chunk early on then settle to a very slow degradation curve probably half as steep as NMC by all accounts. I did an absolute zero to 100% charge on my Dec 22 19k mile SE standard range a couple of weeks ago and it took a little...

    MG4 : 1st Service : What to expect?

It's under the bonnet. Remove the decorative trim and you'll see the end cover for the filter held by plastic clips. They're really brittle so might be an idea to heat them with a hair dryer or such or they'll probably snap....as I found out last winter.

Collected today - bitter sweet experience

3 million miles ! Maybe that's how long it takes for the parts to wear in and the vibes vanish . Sorry, couldn't resist ?

    New cars stressful ??

We'll be doing just that from next year, look forward to the holes being quickly and expertly repaired from then on :p Feels like we don't get much in return for the council tax as it is though, a reasonable surface to drive on without the fear of my suspension getting torn off doesn't seem...

    New cars stressful ??

I think that we're all in the same situation in the UK, don't think I've seen the roads in a worse state in the decades I've lived up here. The irony is that it's the same fekking potholes year after year after year because the local council won't ( or can't ) spend the money to repair them...

    SOH

Yep, I think these dealer SOH reports are a bunch of bollox personally

    Odd noise

High pitched noise related to road speed ? Likely from the motor/inverter, I notice that it's definitely more whiney when temps are low. Pretty normal I think.

    Rattle under boot floor

A rattle / clunk from the tailgate is common on these cars, might be worth checking that first. Wrap some electrical tape around the metal loop that the hatch latches to, also, adjusting the rubber bump stops on the side of the hatch opening can help. Getting the car up on ramps and dropping...

    Little pockmarks on bonnet

The paint code for the black should be 5 PBC, you'll see it on the drivers door B pillar. My 2022 car, also in black has numerous chips that have exposed the light coloured primer, bonnet, bumper, front of roof, edge of the windscreen. I think I generally keep an unusually generous distance...
