I might get an upgrade sooner than the next service then.

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

You must compare the same route over two consecutive runs. You can’t compare A to B with B to A.

Can you confirm the pull down when using CarPlay is still working? I doubt it, as the bong happens on mine even when the temp gauge shows 4.0 all the time. But they might still have fixed it anyway

Thanks for this, they finally took my feedback on board 😅

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

Indeed if your journey is short and only done once in the morning and once in the evening, as long as you don’t strain the battery you are better off not warming it up. Bear in mind VW used to run the battery heating while driving and you didn’t get the option of switching it off.

Eco mode and level 3 regen in icy conditions

I always found level 3 regen in ECO mode to be more aggressive than in normal mode. So maybe there’s a link? Or the message might be delayed: do you scroll through Snow mode in between?

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

True that it will increase range somewhat but on the LFP not so much in my experience: for the couple kWh taken to heat the battery fully, I only ever gain 50 % of that (4 miles). But if I run the battery heater for only 10 minutes I should get back more: havent tried yet though.

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

I have seen it kick in when above 96% and temperatures hovering around 0 while charging with a granny charger and the battery was cold. It will probably kick in sooner on a 7kW charger but then there’s enough juice to charge and heat the battery

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

Yes. It’s intelligent (a bit of a misnomer) compared to the older implementation in the MG5 which was manual.

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

You are missing the point of battery heating then. Also,, your return trip is likely to be either more or less efficient as one of the two trips will be slightly uphill. Yes, that’s enough to make a noticeable difference. The tyre temperature also makes a difference, as does the use of the...

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

Yeah target temps are to stop heating the coolant when min and max temps are at or above 17°C. They might warm up a little more if you wait another 15 minutes or so. But after that it’s likely they’ll stay where they are. Although for the LFP pack to be at its maximum charge temperature it...

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

It will depend on how cold the battery is. I’ve not seen it run for longer than 45 minutes yet. Most times around half an hour or less

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

If the battery isn’t cold enough, it won’t.

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

Thanks for clarifying what you meant by several short trips, indeed you are correct if you don't demand 100% power or the temperatures are still above freezing. Otherwise I would argue preheating the battery on those colder days it's still best practice (although obviously it's not going to...

    All season tyre choices

If you are going to a tyre shop, they should know more than you do already, no need to teach them how to do their job, especially since if they don't know what they are doing, you telling them will make zero difference at that point. 😬 What I have done though, is label each tyre valve with FR...

MG4 Intelligent battery heating on SE?

It's quite the opposite if indeed you are doing several short journeys through the day. If temps are below 10°C, pre-heat the battery via the app about half an hour before your first journey. The battery will then retain its heat throughout most of the day, giving you best efficiency and...

    MG4 2024 update rumours

Even better: small and extra large, xpower 49kwh in Europe is my24 model. Thats the only difference I’m aware of (there are other differences but not 100% sure which ones). Agree for us it’s my25. And it has saved me a few times when the physical fob wasn’t operational due to RF interference...

The PremiumContact C are exclusively manufactured in China You can buy them retail at Kwik Fit Now with discounts I’m not saying cheaper tyres are not as good as more expensive I’m saying less than £100 is way too little The Turanza 6 Enliten is a vastly superior tyre for £10 a corner more...

    All season tyre choices

The original tyres retail at £150 each C rating for rolling resistance and noisy compared to others. And still more than £100 per corner At £100 or less per corner you ask for many more compromises. Nothing against Kumho tyres btw, some of their models have great reviews. As do Hankook.
