I have my (Jan 2020) car booked in for 27 January at my local MG agent Waylands. I have always found them reasonably priced for service, but pretty hopeless for sales, with very poor salespeople.
I will try to remember to post details of the service after the event.
I suspect that the heater system is software driven. This allows for the various options to be quickly available and shown on the display module.,
Thus it just might be worth doing the "disconnect the 12V battery" trick which should reset the software.
ICE cars also suffer battery problems if left for weeks without use, mainly due to alarms and other continuous battery loads.
The solution is obviously a maintenance charger, but this is only possible if mains power is close and there are no issues with cables, etc.
Another option could be a PV...

It is probably part of the latching mechanism. Of course the switch may be faulty, especially as it is quite old. If you can find the wiring to it you could cut and join them using a chocolate...
But this grinding was on full lock, not when the brakes are applied.
I would suggest this sounds more like a faulty constant velocity joint, which is the item through which the power is passed to the front wheels. They make that noise when very worn. As this is a new car, it is more likely a...
