I have found the gets confused if you try to drive with the driver door open, or even not closed properly. But try what Spineynorman suggests. In accessory mode, if the battery voltage is below 13V; that sounds like a poor battery.
I have the drivers side mirror stuck out and will not retract. Not really a problem as it is at least usable when driving. I will have it sorted at the next annual service in January. (5th service).

There has been discussion on the point before on this forum - I seem to remember someone had a broken filler plug or something similar.

I would think you have a faulty resistor pack. It is a common problem on all cars.
I recommend getting it fixed asap because there can be a risk of fire with these items.
Vauxhall had a problem with the Zefira a few years ago.
