    Front radar

I think NZ is less isolated from China than the UK! Having said that, I needed 2 doors in 2021 and had no problem at that point. Going back to 1968, when MG really were MG, I had to wait over 3 months for a road spring for a Midget - and that was in Oxford, about 8 miles from the factory!

MG ZS EV MY 21 - form of heating. Battery or reverse cycle?

You can just heat the air without cooling it first, but you will get condensation .

MG ZS EV MY 21 - form of heating. Battery or reverse cycle?

I think both Mk1 and Mk2 use the same basic system, although the mk2 has automatic climate control.

    Front radar

I suggest this work needs to be undertaken by a full MG approved agency. If it is not accurately set up it could cause all sorts of problems.

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Well my comment is common to both. I'm very pleased that the rumour of total fly-by-wire has been scotched. A great relief. Secondly, the only way to make a brake system truly fail- safe is to have all, or at least most, of the brakes coming on full in the event of a loss of fluid in the...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Well the government oversee the regulations pertaining to vehicle safety, in the same way they oversee the rules that apply to the post office. But that's not really the point: what I'm saying is that when something is not done it does not mean nothing NEEDS to be done, because companies...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Some time ago, I would agree. However, since the Post Office scandal, the Infected Blood scandal and many police scandals, I find nothing is "without doubt" nowadays. Like many others, I watched as more and more Sub-postmasters were prosecuted when it was perfectly obvious there was something...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Smooth driving is achieved using the accelerator, not the brakes. If you are smooth driving, you rarely use the brakes. But they should be there in full effect if required.

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Commercial airliners have multiple support computers, not just one. Even so, pilots will tell you that it is common to have to shut down the computers whilst on the tarmac to get rid of obvious errors. Reading this forum indicates that the MG software is riddled with problems and I would not...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

What mg4mc describes is actually a good description of a servo. Obviously not the usual car servo which just "helps" pedal effort. I suggest the move to effectively computer control is NOT a good idea, and I am surprised it has been allowed by the certification authorities. All that is separate...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Since when has braking efficiency been connected with car eco/norm/sport mode? I have never heard of such a thing. I suggest if it is there, its either a fault or just wrong. It suggests the brake servo is being turned off, why would you want to do that?

Loss of cruise control and collision warning

Infotainment being interrupted is one thing, but car control issues are quite another, much more serious.

Loss of cruise control and collision warning

What do you mean by "lose"? I assume you mean the cruise control drops out and fails to maintain the selected speed.? How do you know the collision warning has failed? Are the roads dry and not oily? Most cruise controls and stability controls are shut off if one of the wheeks is turning at a...

    Better mileage than range prediction

With 4.7m/kwh you're bound to get a good range, should be about 200m. The 151 miles range would have been based on much lower m/kwh.

How do I reset driver side auto window?

The usual system on other cars is to put the window all the way down and hold switch down for 4 seconds, then all the way up and hold for 4 seconds. Then it should work...?

    Extending Slow charger lead

Much easier to use a standard 13A mains extension, any should carry 10A with no problem. Position the plug/socket under cover.

    Car Accident… :(

Be careful with courtesy car. I had terrible trouble a few years back when my car was rear-ended. My insurer had some special scheme for "no fault" claims and they provided a hire car. After about 3 weeks my car came back and they took the hire car, but then the other party's insurance refused...

Wishlist/'must haves' for next version of the ZS EV?

Fred12345, if you don't mind secondhand, the Ford Mustang EV, extended range, can be bought for the same money as a MG ZS LR - about £35k. 400 mile range and a great car. I fancy a red one myself.

    Car Accident… :(

I had an accident, repaired by a local body-shop that I knew would do a good job, and they did. I think your old boy is in for about £2000. New door skin, repair sill and new wheel trim. On my car, unusually, the paint only had one shade available, but it matched most of the original, although...

    Worn out seat! Anyone else?

Plenty of seats available from well know auction sites. My car at 20k miles and 4 years does not seem to show any signs of wear as yet.
