Insurance , but not what you think?

Had a quick look through both policies , car and house ,with the same provider , and neither mention the EVSE. I would have thought the house policy would have the most to lose as its wired into the house electrical system and any potential damage would mainly be contained /started thereabouts...

Insurance , but not what you think?

Had to re-insure the car recently and was looking through all the options. Came across one companies site and in its generalities it mentioned that if you have an EVSE attached to your property you should inform your house insurer and have it on their files, they may want to see all the...

Ok, you lot. What did you get for Crimbo? 🎅🎄🎁

I'd forgot about that one , again excellent , highlighting the Lancs/ Yorkshire rivalry. Apart from W+G, Gavin and Stacey and Black Panther everything was a repeat or a old film. I didn't come to France and not pay my TV licence to have rehashed lazy programming stuffed down my throat. o_O...

Ok, you lot. What did you get for Crimbo? 🎅🎄🎁

A little late replying to this post , I thought I'll wait to see how things panned out. I got a bag of bah! humbugs and a touch of food poisoning.! In the recent inclement weather may I thank Freeview for providing a visual feast of entertainment ( irony ) over the Christmas period, no wonder...

    How much damage?

There is that footage at an Australian cricket match of a seagull being clonked with a fast moving ball , stunned for a few minuets , then recovered , we have birds fly into the windows who do the same. Perhaps......... cue Monty Python sketch.

EV insured in the event of a claim

Firstly, the LKA is a driver aid, and switchable off, if its faulty and you know this but still rely on it then you bear quite a lot of the responsibility should anything happen. If its faulty and MG refuse to replace it , you would need a third party specialist inspection report ( costly ) to...

    How much damage?

It probably couldn't get enough altitude because it had a great big arrow up its jacksie. 😀 Bad luck! I won't bore you with the story of a CBR 600 , Grouse, and 380 quids worth of fairing. Open a bottle of tipple and have a dram or two , might help you sleep better tonight,

The great big insurance rip off

From a French auto magazine , it says the insurance for Teslas is a lot higher because in the event of a repairable accident , the aluminium Gigacastings are a lot more expensive to repair/ replace requiring specialist centres, and Tesla have a strict policy about battery repairs/ replacement...

New owner of an an MG4 - Servicing Costs?

When the well respected forum member Archev jumped ship, many of us asked him to stick around and give us his opinions of his new ride. Its always good to have an alternative view of the competition especially when you can trust its honesty.

Almost knocked down a pedestrian on Christmas Eve

Unfortunately, people are people and this sort of incident can happen any time of year , apart from " accidentally" sounding your horn or putting on your hazard lights when moving off, especially if your views are restricted , it won't time be the last time this occurs. Near to me there is a...

    XPower Insurance Renewal Refused

As a counterpoint, do insurance companies in their headline promises say their cover is all singing/dancing and then when you come to claim , find out that the fine print has loads or restrictions and conditions and in between the lines references and legal jargon which absolve them of...

    Tyre advice

No one has mentioned taking the wheel off and rotating it in a bath of water. At least then you can ascertain what and where the problem is and then remedy appropriately. Unless you are carrying a jack and brace its an at home job only! but with a slow puncture most of us would be able to pump...

Things learnt so far on our Spanish adventure

At the moment its like Philips/Pozidrive/JIS screwdrivers and screws or 16th century toll roads, too many players with different policies, prices and complications all trying to recoup their initial outlay. Until there is a proper unification , either voluntary or by governmental decree then...

    Imagine this!

I used to have a ZRX 1100 , big heavy beast , heavy powerful toquey engine , needed heavy frame, wheels and suspension to resist all the forces, and of course powerful front brakes capable of stopping it from 130mph plus. Those said brakes , a bit grabby , if not careful, wanted to catapult you...

    Rust

There is rust , and then there is surface rust which stays on the surface and protects the steel underneath. The first type goes deeper and forms corrosion. The type of rust can be an indicator of the alloy mix in the steel on which it forms . In the case of a hub carrier/ stub axle you would...
