Regen Increases Tyre Wear....or does it?

The AI Overview The Porsche Taycan's regenerative braking system, also known as recuperation, converts kinetic energy from braking into electricity to recharge the battery. This can increase the car's range by up to 30%. How it works When the driver presses the brake pedal, the electric...

Regen Increases Tyre Wear....or does it?

Also remember that the tyres you get are dependent on the geographic region you are in.

Regen Increases Tyre Wear....or does it?

And I assume more of the Regen braking is via the rear wheels too given the rear motor is more powerful than the front. I found my rear wheels locked this afternoon when I was noodling around some unsealed tracks while taking my 77 for a sightseeing trip today. Very low speed stuff but it made...

Regen Increases Tyre Wear....or does it?

I did, so to save everyone else I can summarise ... No. Then slow down. No. None whatsoever, well the "Regen" causing "more" tyre wear bit. To avoid excessive tyre wear see point 1 ;) Well if you mean the resistive force is actualized by the tyre grip on the tarmac as the wheels rotational...

    MG4 in Australia

Yes, sort of... I was at 50% SoC after 30 minutes when I got back to the car and noticed the very slow charging so finished it and went around to the single bay nrma tritium 50kW charger to see what it was doing. I got almost the same rate (29kW) and went and got a drink. They stop at 80% so as...

    MG4 in Australia

Yeah, I get 144kW when the SoC is low and by 50%SoC it drops to around 60-70kW. 30kW is really low! There weren't any other cars plugged in at the time so I couldn't ask what they were getting. Ah well, such is life. ...and I'm on holiday time, so really, who cares :D ...and the Yass and Wagga...

Yes, the ER is a great car. We know it as the Essence 77 here in Oz. Great for long journeys (y) Enjoy!

    MG4 in Australia

Darn it... First hiccup. The Hay superchargers are running very slowly. Only getting 30kW. I'll be 45 minutes later to Mildura than planned. Ah well. It was a planning trip. I'll only plan on getting to Narrandera next time I take the trip. Lucky I'm on "holiday time" ;)

    MG4 & 5 Ventilation

Really? I hate having the windows down. I find the "thumping" noise very unpleasant. Back when the kids were young I regularly had to ask them to put the windows back up if I'd forgotten to turn the AC up and they wanted some fresh air. Nowadays it's when I'm taking the dogs to the groomer that...

    MG4 in Australia

Yes, I've used the Ardrossan RAA chargers a number of times when I come around in a hire Polestar 2 which I pick up from Adelaide Airport if I fly over. There's 3 main charging sites that service the Yorke Peninsula, Ardrossan, Minlaton and Kadina. I've used them all as I traipse around the...

    MG4 in Australia

Thanks Neerav, I'll happily accept an LKA update but I can wait. I don't find it as annoying now as I first did. I no longer bother using the "pull down" menu and turning off ELK each time I go on a long trip. I'm used to it and it really doesn't bother me these days. That being said I do go...

    MG4 in Australia

Hi Neerav. I watched your YouTube video and yes, it discussed 2 new "features", but didn't say anything about improved LKA... Huh?

    MG4 in Australia

Hmmmmm.... Tricky. We have a July 23 "77" and it's just great, albeit we bought it "new" during the October sales and so it came with the 10 year warranty. We also have a February 24 build "51" bought a bit later in the same sales. I haven't found any material difference in the software...

MG4 Software version Tables for reference

In addition to those columns there needs to be "Region". Australia has different software releases to the UK and EU for example.

Swap the 18 inch wheels for 17s to increase Range?

:) No drama! I was wondering that... hence my query.

Swap the 18 inch wheels for 17s to increase Range?

Are you sure he wasn't talking about the MG3, HS and/or ZS hybrids? There are definitely no MG4 hybrids. 100% certainty.

Swap the 18 inch wheels for 17s to increase Range?

Huh? Hybrid Essence what exactly? The 18" tyres are 235/45 not 235/50

    Radio turning off

May be annoying to you but to others it is a benefit. Don't hold your breath waiting for an update to address something like that :) FWIW I think it's a good thing. It reminds my better half that if the radio is still on she HASN'T LOCKED THE CAR!!! Again :ROFLMAO:
