I must be blind!
So I have no idea how I "checked" last time and failed to notice: -
Thank you all!
I still think I'll be just leaving it in "3" all the time but I might play about with it and see if A does work better on long distance cruises whilst in ACC mode.
I wish I could comment from personal experience but sadly I only have the MG4 "ER 77" but even that handles as well as any car I've ever had and certainly better than most.
It should be remembered that motoring journalist is a pretty low rung on the journalism ladder...
I have the "360 degree camera" view assigned to my left star button as I couldn't find anything more useful than that for it (and I don't actually find it even that useful  ).
I checked again to see if I missed something. Not that I could see...
I asked the MG4 ChatGPT Tech Assistant...
Rather than "simples" I'd say "simplistic".
When in traffic you don't just zoom up to traffic lights and then take your foot off the pedal to hope that the regen will slow you down in time for a sudden red light.
Using regen you do get a feel for how much you'd slow by completely taking your...
Yes, but why are you regularly slowing down more than intended?
I guess that could be the case for some but I don't find myself needing to feather the throttle much at all. Each to their own!
*Indeed, I'd prefer if the OPD regen setting 'stuck'. The closest I can get is regen 3...
I think we must drive differently.
I don't understand how the regen level has anything to do with being able to "coast" more.
When I'm doing long trips (and I do quite a few) I always have ACC enabled and set my speed to whatever is appropriate for the road conditions, typically 100 or 110 kph...
Exactly! Depending on the conversation I have with them at my 40K service, I will make it clear I'm willing to pay a reasonable charge to have the LKA/ELK improved. Time is money. I get that.
It's such a shame they never rolled out the OTA update capability. Ah well. Such is life.
The ACC on both our MG4s (One an Excite 51 AKA SE SR and the other a Long Range 77 AKA Trophy ER) does 1kph for a short tap and 5kph for a long tap on the toggle. We do not get the slowdown on sweeping bends.
I very occasionally do get a slow down on some bends but it's not typical behaviour...
Just wondering. Why is sticking to 3 a bad thing?
Don't get me wrong, being able to change it via one of the "star" buttons should work, but I'm intrigued why you would want to.
Yes, that's one of the reasons I prefer to use it rather than the wireless charging mat. I only want the phone trickle charging when I'm on long journeys running Android Auto. The USB C port provides enough juice to eventually get it to fully charged and keep it there without overheating.
The...
Or use a USB C charging cable in that port. It's actually what I use even though I could use the wireless charging pad.
I use the 12v socket to power my dash cam.
A few comments that may be useful, but I can't guarantee it ;)
Whilst I haven't used the Tesla "mobile connector" I do have the Tesla Wall Connector and I have a Chinese "mobile connector" equivalent (but it's smarter and more on that later).
The smarts on the wall unit are controlled via the...
Indeed. I'd never heard the term before joining this forum.
I think it must be a British thing.
In Australia we just call them "240 volt chargers", "Wall Chargers" or sometimes "trickle chargers".
Only time I ever hear the term is here
This is the link to the Australian "dé" Amazon store.

I bought the "15A" capable charger. It's excellent. It "remembers" the last current setting you selected which is typically...
On the steering wheel press the middle button with the "steering wheel" icon on it.
Then use the toggle switch up and down to adjust the speed.
(Snap) (Snap) And (snap) again :ROFLMAO:
I've done over 30,000kms now and am thinking about what tyres to replace the original Bridgestone Turanza T005 that our "Long Range 77" (aka Trophy ER) came with.
My primary concern is energy efficiency. This is our "long distance trips" car and so distance on a charge is the key metric.
Yes I...
My concern would be that it is a specific hardware "fault" in your Pixel and that a software reset wouldn't correct the issue  Dicky USB C port in particular. Have you a "air blaster" spray can? Maybe give the USB port a good blast of air...
