    Rear wiper

Something I noticed in today's rainy conditions. The rear wiper works in Park, Neutral, and Drive, but not in REVERSE- when you might actually want it! Talk about daft!!!!

Mg3 hybrid+ trophy high revs and not changing gear

I wouldn’t for one second let them get away with the £15 charge. Tell them to take it up with MG UK. It’s a manufacturing fault so it’s there responsibility. BTW the charge is just a take on, a way to make more profit. My car has been in twice for the same fault - Engine emissions failure, and...

    Winter driving

The car has a regular Torque Converter auto box (3 speed), not a CVT. I've mentioned before, when going uphill the car engine revs will jump up to 2 or 2.500. I think it's because the engine is trying to ensure there's plenty of power in the battery to drive the motor. However as I mentioned...

    Emissions fault

Guess what! Like an old friend come back to visit, the Engine emissions warning light is back on! It's been a couple of months this time, and interestingly my car is already booked in Monday week 2nd December, as last week the dealer asked if I could bring the car back to have the EGR valve...

    Speed limit recognition is dodgy

From my experience I just tend to ignore what is says. Around me in 30 mph zones it's telling me the speed limit is 50, other times it suggests the speed limit is 90! Then at the other extreme it tells me 20 in a 30...

    Bonnet Paint Chip Protection

The only way to help avoid stone chips in the paint is to apply PPF - PAINT PROTECTION FILM. I had my other car fully covered 2 1/4 years ago prior to taking delivery. The product is a clear film applied to the car which helps minimise Stone chipping and scratches to the cars paintwork. The...

Emissions light back on - AGAIN!

A continuation to the story. I received a call from my dealer out of the blue, apparently the part is now in! Not knowing what they were talking about, I enquired as to what the part is. It turns out it's a new EGR valve, which MG TECHNICAL have determined needs replacing even though the problem...

    MG3 engine management light

Actually I think you will find it’s the EGR sensor. I had the problem and it took two visits to sort out.

Emissions light back on - AGAIN!

Yes the problem was resolved with a further software update. The problem centered around the EGR sensor, I have a feeling that the parameters around when the fault is triggered have been widened as part of the update.

Mg3 hybrid+ trophy high revs and not changing gear

At 70 my car is certainly under 3k rpm, usually around 2,700 from memory… If, as I’ve said before, the car detects an incline, it’s almost as if the three speed box changes down to second gear, not to drive the car but provide charge it seems, for the battery to power the car. I do keep the...

    Making the boss Moby Dick

I use the MG PILOT as much as possible. Whilst not without issues eg Phantom braking, anything that makes driving easier is a plus for me.

What is wrong with your MG3-Hybrid (ONLY)

Remap the engine/transmission software to stop excessive engine revs when going uphill.

    Frightening Adaptive Cruise

Right, yes I know what you mean. In fairness whilst not as smooth as the system on my Genesis, it's usually not too bad in my car, although it does leave braking a bit longer than I would like. Also as with my other car, it's important to look at the graphic display and anticipate, in order to...

    Frightening Adaptive Cruise

The Phantom braking issue when the system mis identifies parked cars, is certainly an issue. Slamming on the brakes could be a safety issue with any vehicle travelling behind. I now get ready with my foot over the accelerator when I see a potential situation developing. I use the MG PILOT which...

What do you use to wash your MG3? ☀️⛈️🌧️🌦️

I'm an amateur/hobbyist detailer (undoubtedly fed by my OCD!), and for me washing a car is an all day or even TWO days (to clean off drips and water spots) The process... Wheel shampoo such as the Auto Finesse product mixed in bucket with water. Spray wheels tyres wheel arch liners with jet...

    Controlling the heating system

Having discovered that the right hand star button can be used to operate temp and fan speed, makes operation so much easier. Pity though it doesn't show when you have carplay on the screen. One thing I would have changed, when you you push the toggle it would have been better if it set the...

    Controlling the heating system

If MG could elevate their after sales and customer service to the standard that will be expected of a buyer of a car at that price point, then the Cyberster should be an absolute winner! As it stands it offers a unique position in the market, as being the only EV Roadster on the market, and as...

    Controlling the heating system

I discovered the fan setting control for the auto mode today. I have set it to medium, so perhaps that will help stop the blast of air when on auto. I actually find the car either warms up or cools down very quickly. Although I maintain the calibration of the temperature settings are a little...

    This video is concerning!

Just in case I'm coming across as a bit of a moaning customer. See attached a YouTube road test on my other car. If you look in the comments section you will see an albeit very l-o-n-g comment (about the third one down, with my name is keithshayle), it details my whole hearted support of the...
