I've seen no evidence of the brake pedal increasing the level of regen on mine. I would also expect a noticeable point at which the braking transitions from regen to friction brakes, which I don't see.

You're not missing anything, the intelligent speed limit assist is rubbish. Just switch it off.

Cables are the most common root cause for intermittent connection.

The MG battery has unusable buffers at top & bottom of state of charge and active thermal management. Both are a good thing for battery life. Our 10 year old leaf gets charged to 100% every night and has no thermal management. It still has about 80% SOH. Our 10 year old Volt has larger buffers...

How is the car being used? If it's just occasional short journeys and infrequent charging the 12V battery may not be getting enough time "on charge" to keep it topped up & healthy. If the car gets regular longer journeys and is left on charge every night and the 12V battery is still going flat...

That looks like a good old dumb Rolec (like mine!). Neither the car nor the charger is going to enable you to set a timed charge. Regarding item 2: just plug it in when you get home and unplug it before you leave. There's no safety issue with leaving it plugged in once the charge is complete.

If you ask a forum what problems they have had you'll get a list of problems. Not sure that actually helps you. Mine has been faultless (so far!), as I suspect have the majority.
