    Preheat cabin

I know it was just an example 😁 I just tell Alexa to turn the TV off which it does then turns it off via a smart socket

Cant Contact the car with app when it is frozen.

Try unlocking and locking the car with the key fob then try again.

    Did someone mention winter?

It sort of goes against their tough image when a bit of frosty weather gets them running indoors :ROFLMAO:

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

I wouldn't mind pay-per-mile if there was a foolproof and fair way of implementing it as long as they removed the ad-hoc road tax (or vehicle excise duty for the pedants 😁)

    Dangerous Adaptive cruise control

I agree. Sometimes you have to poke them with a big stick. When I had the charging problem with my MG4 it took several weeks/months of taking the car to the dealers for a few days and having it back while waiting for the next stage of the investigation to be approved. It wasn't until I...

    Preheat cabin

If it was possible you'd have thought Tesla would have done it or any other manufacturer to save costs. I'm only guessing but it could be a safety thing so when the car is off the high voltage battery is isolated from the rest of the car. A bit like unplugging the TV at night.

    MGS5 Windscreen.

That's good to know. Did they/will they do the re-calibration of the camera as well?

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

I think they were also getting a lot of aggro from not just EV owners but the car industry too. Ford boss Lisa Brankin had also waded in warning it wasn't the right time to tax EVs https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yp1ky55g1o

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

Heidi Alexander, the transport secretary, has ruled out a pay-per-mile scheme for the UK. Looks like the anti-ev press have jumped on a rumour and run with it. Mind you its taken the government long enough to either confirm or deny it.

Will the MGS5 get OTA updates?

I can understand your dealer's point of view having had the experience with updates for the MG4. Some updates created other problems and in hindsight some owners wished they hadn't had it done.

    MGS5 - Underrated

It might be for the MG4 but it could and should be longer for the MGS5.

    Slow charge port cover.

To be honest it wasn't until I read the whole sentence in context that I realised it meant the 19th century and looking on line sometimes its a capital C and other times its a small c and to confuse everyone more the C can go before the 19 (C19).

    MGS5 Emergency Key

The mechanical key for the MGS5 is different to the MG4 in that it's a separate item and isn't contained within the fob. If you have an MG4 its worth checking that there is a mechanical key in both fobs as some have been supplied with it in only one of them. Also if you have a battery...

    Slow charge port cover.

Odd as he/she didn't alter my post when I used 19C . Perhaps they thought I was referring to 19 degrees Centigrade 🤣

    MGS5 - Underrated

The semi-regular Sainsbury's delivery driver this week liked the look of my MGS5 saying he likes the aggressive look but did ask why do manufacturers insist on putting tiny rear wipers on cars nowadays.

    Odd work practices

@T1 Terry your reminiscences about doing foreigners reminds me of my father going in as temporary manager for a now defunct large motor group at a garage in Derbyshire to try and turn it around as it wasn't as profitable as it should have been. He noticed that although there were very few cars...

    Slow charge port cover.

For living in the 19C you want to try Brittany. The 19C is modern. Shops close for 2 hours at lunchtime and the only shop open on Sundays is the boulangerie for a couple of hours so the French can get their daily bread and the rush hour consists of 4 cars on the same stretch of road. If a bank...

Stoneacre Derby - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

I got my MGS5 from them too although it took 2 visits as they had to get the colour I wanted from another branch. It only had a couple of miles on it as they had to register it in their name first before transferring it to me.

    VW ID BUZZ e Kombie

There's a company in the UK doing just that with an option of a 75kWh battery and 300 bhp. https://www.electricclassiccars.co.uk/blogs/conversions/vw-camper?srsltid=AfmBOopKPOcbdU5Aa6ox3nTu7k6_wOBaxlsyrkz1WTNEIRkmCzWBRmp4

    Odd work practices

I remember at school we used to have a "rough book" in which to write notes about homework and memory aids that didn't need to be written in the lesson book for that subject. When it was full you had to take it to the deputy heads office at 12 o'clock to get a replacement and he used to...
