    Bored ?..... do this !

And you could do the work yourself with a bit of knowledge, owner's workshop manual and a set of spanners and know if you cocked it up you wouldn't brick the car unless you got the timing belt wrong.

12V power socket - how to protect the battery

I got the Goodyear cordless tyre inflator as I wanted a brand I recognised and that would hopefully meet the UK regulations for charging safety and not a corner cutting Chinese import. https://amzn.eu/d/5PueCrW

Horn sounds when locking the car with the boot open

The boot lid will only give him a light tap on the head and then stop. Try it out, I have 😁 I unloaded my two greyhounds from the boot and pressed the close button before realising I'd left my walking shoes just inside the boot. I thought I could grab them as the boot was closing...wrong!

    Can't charge

That explains it. It's your charger that's compatible with Octopus Intelligent Go because as @LenEV2016 pointed out MG haven't released their API for Octopus to control the car's charging.

MG S5 charging port light stopped working

I'd let the dealer know that the fix was only temporary but you'll wait for the first service for them to look at it again so it will be on the car's record.

    EV Chargers

Like @TimothyN I run various appliances to take advantage of the cheap rate and as I don't do a lot of mileage in the car it does mean I save money compare to being on a single rate tariff although I don't go as far as using V2L. A lot of suppliers are now only doing 5 hours of cheap...

    Odd work practices

The famous one about workers shirking was in the 1970s at British Leyland where they discovered 14 men asleep in sleeping bags. A lad I used to know worked permanent night shifts at the carriage and wagon works in Derby so he could machine parts for his and other peoples Harley Davidsons. That...

    Tyre pressure in winter

You should check them every month when the tyres are cold and adjust the pressure accordingly. Having said that a drop of 5% isn't much of a problem unless you are doing a long journey and/or at motorway speeds. Some owners are running their cars at 35 psi to improve the ride comfort.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE - not working

In heavy traffic on motorways and dual carriageways I prefer to use the speed limiter in manual mode so I can decide my following distance and if I want to quickly nip into the gap in the next lane.

    Parasitic drain on 12V battery

I can't believe I'm defending a car dealer but it's not all Stoneacre's fault. They have to do a diagnostic and send it to MG who will then approve the next step. Then after that course of action it's another diagnostic report to MG and so on. MG can take up to 48 hours to reply and then the...
