All that shows is the efficiency of transport mode, it still doesn't negate the pollution, plus there aren't any trees to absorb burnt kerosine at 40,000 feet.
Indeed, but our problem with the pollution issue is global. It's no good this country being net zero, which would only account for 1% of the World's total, if other countries don't/can't follow suit. Realistically it's pie in the sky I fear.
True, but many car journeys, particularly in rural areas with inadequate public transport, are essential. How many flights are actually essential over pure pleasure ( if that's not an oxymoron!)
I can't help but feel that cars have been unfairly demonized regarding the emissions issue. I wonder how much crap a Jumbo (the flying variety ?) shoves into the atmosphere?
He talks a lot of sense, of course EVs can't solve the C02 problem on their own. It would be interesting to know though what proportion of gases the motor vehicle produces in construction and use compared with the manufacture of all the other goods civilization replies upon.
Make sure your 12v socket is live at all times as is the case with my van. Our car's however is only live with the ignition on, therefore to use the solar charger we would would have to attach the crocodile clips provided to the battery. Presumably the charger would have to sit on the vehicle's...
