Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

It's just a vdi connection, nothing magic. They just discourage/deprecated the update over the wireless link

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Again, I'd strongly encourage not to do so. You'll probably end up with bugs like one of the steering wheel star buttons not working. Edit: I mean running R38 just via USB update without SIPS reconfiguration to install the MCU software.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

For both tbox and infotainment (r38 is the current version right now for you) you'll need a computer with a vdi dongle and sips access. I'd strongly advise against doing just the usb update as you'll definitely encounter bugs

Yeah...some parts are coded with the vin of the car they were first installed on to discourage parts theft (on paper, at least). SIPS will refuse to operate on such a part.

Is not detected or detected with a VIN mismatch? If it's not detected you should check the wiring harness to see if it gets power properly. On a VIN mismatch there's nothing you can do

They have a reduction gearbox, it's a fixed ratio

    Mg4 fire

Definitely one worth studying for MG. Looks like the NCM battery containment worked as planned. I would be curious to open it and see the damage inside

    Sudden acceleration

I can get you a "sudden deceleration" as well if you want, whoever did the integration testing on the different modules forgot to catch at least one other edge case: Set the car to regen 1 (max 5% regen power) Activate ACC / LKA Foot off the accelerator Wait for ACC/LKA to start a deceleration...

    Sudden acceleration

@fnegroni Regen braking is the first thing the stability control module kills as soon as it feels one of the rear wheels slip compared to the other. I can trigger it quite reliably by having one wheel on a wet and freshly painted crosswalk line and the other on the asphalt while the car is...

I find the ACC much improved with SC077 honestly, are you sure they did the update properly? Maybe your front radar is out of calibration and the car has to brake too late?

It is and yes, it would but still they won't provide it from experience

EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

I had that after an update last September. IIRC it was linked to BCM update

No, the LOU is a "List of Updates", it doesn't know which version got installed. You can recover that from the BOM (i.e. production record of the vehicle) plus the update log. Dealers are able to query past updates but that does not mean they are willing to provide you that list I don't think...

After most recent updates: ACC disables itself.

I had never an ACC disconnect, TJA sure, even before the sc077 update. But it had always reverted to plain ACC. Maybe the steering wheel switch is faulty and sending a disconnect signal? Can you connect via car scanner and post the list of DTC of your car?

They are software wise but not for the configuration file

FDR is front detection radar, EPS is the electric power steering ;) As it was updated, I bet your car just needs a radar calibration

Merged thread: Automatic Emergency Braking activating for no reason

AEB should override everything yes. As does the emergency lane departure avoidance system which overrides the steering wheel input from TJA (tested personally). Technically ABS overrides the input from OPD as well (which could be the reason of cars "rolling backwards" with OPD on)

EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

That is indeed possible, I had an out of alignment rear-left radar after a collision with the corresponding dashboard warnings / errors and DTCs. Without starting the calibration procedure from SIPS and just by following the same required driving pattern the car "re-trained" itself clearning...
