Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

I called them this morning to check the appointment was going ahead and they said due to stock availability.etc they won't be available before Tuesday so that's completely useless to me. I originally booked for Tuesday this week and then when it got towards the end of the slot called them to...

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Well they were sodding useless and have again failed to come out so looks like I now need to go elsewhere (and possibly get different tyres due to availability) Edit: Looks like i'm getting some bridgestones now, hopefully those will be ok.

    MG5 scheduled charging

Not on its own, you'd still need an EVSE of some kind to do the signalling.

    MG5 scheduled charging

If we're being accurate there also electronics for generating the PWM signal used to tell the car how much power the EVSE is capable of supplying.etc Most of the more recent ones will have some form of Microcontroller/Single board computer in them for the "smart" features like scheduled...

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Sigh, apparently the job didn't get booked in because I'd selected the bank holiday Monday (I hadn't as it wasn't even an option). It's only because I called them after never getting an update with a more precise time slot (which apparently it's supposed to send out the morning of the...

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Good, hopefully getting some cross climates put on tomorrow Front tyres are at the wear bar (opps) rears have plenty of tread but some cracking is starting to happen around the edges so decided to eat the cost and get a fully matched set on It's at about 19k miles and is a 22 plate Old tyres...

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Checked one of the wheels, think these are just standard and presumably a tyre fitter should have no issues getting them off (assuming they haven't seized)

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Saw that under the false floor in the boot and wondered what it was for

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

I presume they have plastic covers over them, either as part of the hubcap or separate?

Pre facelift 5, Locking wheel nuts.

Just to double-check but the pre facelift MG5 didn't ever come with locking wheel nuts as standard, did it? I don't recall ever seeing a locking wheel nut key/thing, and I got the car as a pre-reg a couple of years back, so I presume unless the dealer added them it won't have them. Otherwise I...

    12V socket fuse

It's behind the lower dashboard panel on the drivers side (at least on the UK spec prefacelift) Edit: And yes you do pretty much have to remove the entire lower dash panel as there's no access panel for the fuseboard, I think I found a guide somewhere last time, it wasn't overly difficult as...

    Android Auto VS Carplay.

Nope you need a wireless carplay/aa dongle. Loads of them on Amazon marketplace or AliExpress.etc I found a rather generic basic looking one that does just AA/carplay (so not the full android AI boxes) worked most reliably

Givenergy + Intelligent Octopus Go bad news

That's what ended up making Eon.Next more appealing as their version of it was not only cheaper off-peak but had a longer overnight period. Think it was slightly more expensive peak though Also I'm having fun with them and my Gas meter at the moment, they can't seem to pull the readings from...

    Tomato Energy

Indeed, I really don't get people with this kind of logic. It's one thing if you've been getting bills that are wrong, and you think you're up-to-date then the company suddenly charged a large sum as a correction, but you know you should have been receiving bills and haven't so it shouldn't be...

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

I'd be worried about bricking something. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if my car has a weird software version as it was one of the late preface lift models that started throwing check HV battery errors and had to have some software update developed to fix it, i'd not want to cause that issue to...

MG5 State of reduction drive oil…

Concerning that the brake fluid is only recommended on the low mileage services even after 4 years

MG5 State of reduction drive oil…

Because as long as it lasts for at least the warranty period then they don't care... They want to sell you a new car as frequently as possible so they have little interest in keeping yours running.

    Android Auto VS Carplay.

Recently got an android phone, is it just my imagination or does AA look worse than carplay on the preface lift 5's screen, just looks like the resolution is rather low. Tried with a cable just in case it was the wireless dongle but it's the same wired, It felt like there was more UI junk...

    Tomato Energy

Just a word of caution with E.On Next you will get put on a standard tariff initially whilst they setup connectivity to the smart meter. Mine ended up being some E7 one with 32p/kwh during the day at 15p at night I think it was.

    Tomato Energy

I think EON would work out slightly better for me than octopus if I were to swtich as their off peak rate is longer and cheaper than octopus go (My EVSE isn't compatible with intelligent)
