Makes it sound like there's a poor connection somewhere and it's not receiving the inputs.
That said mine sometimes doesn't seem to bring up the climate display if I only turn the knob slightly, it seems to depend on what carplay is upto, wouldn't surprise me if the CPU is underpowered.
Would you get a replacement if it’s a lease car or would it be a case of the insurance payout going to the leasing company (and hopefully covering enough that your not on the hook for any gap)
Also make sure the EVSE is actually allowing the car to charge. (I know that sounds silly on the face of it, but given they can be configured with schedules or automations to only use cheaper electricity it's worth mentioning)
I have a CPC Mini which works with my iPhone, but I've never tried it with wireless AA (It supports it)
That said it's rather slow if using the built-in apps (It runs full-blown android and can be used standalone, tricks the car into going into carplay)
Anecdotally there seems to be suggestions that some cars are more likely to go into turtle mode at a higher SOC in very cold weather to protect the battery.
Therefore, I'd suggest trying to avoid going into low SOC during winter months as you might end up with a nasty surprise.
I've been told...
I did think that, but you might get a bit of an arc/spark when doing so given everything is on.
Not sure how good an idea it is with the DC/DC convertor energised as well?
Unless you have the heater blasting or something like that, but even then that probably wouldn't be long as it should reduce it's power consumption once the cabins reached the desired temp.
If they manage to sort it I might have to make the trip at some point.
I actually got my car from them but I've been taking it to a more local dealer (The one they managed to get to assist when I had my "check HV battery" issues in order to avoid me having to get the car to Leeds in that state)
I turned off the auto high beams on mine as it was being more of a nuisance than a help, it would wait far too late before switching back to dipped beams and often enable when joining dual carriage ways.etc annoying other drivers.
I wonder if someone like watchdog would take an interest, I'd imagine if it starts getting reported that MG's can't charge on tesla chargers in the media then they'd take notice.
Failing that crap like The Sun.etc like to print anti EV articles.
The problem with public chargers is they might say 7/11/22kW on them, (Which is usually what that charge point is rated for) but you have no idea of how they're configured or what size power feed/load sharing setup they may have, so there's no guarantee they can actually deliver that.
Usually with those multi network sims the modem will attach to a different network In the case of no signal.
However it’s rarely the case that the modem will go off channel to network search if it’s “connected” to a network, so you can get into situations where there’s either a fault or...
Do use it occasionally if stuck somewhere for a while (like stupidly configured temporary traffic lights).
Oh also if the cruse control has stopped the car for long enough it will eventually switch to using the parking brake and release the main brakes. Found that one out when the m1 had come...
Very nearly drove off with the Charge Flap open yesterday, it was only because a neighbour said something as I was pulling out that I noticed.
Kind of surprised the car didn't warn that this was the case, is there no sensor on the locking mechanism?
This is the pre-facelift 5
