    OHME and iSmart

Well if it were better I might have kept it but that's already done. I did report to them last week the stuff about it keep changing the target, though maybe that is OHME related - maybe they just don't play well together.

    OHME and iSmart

I have an old OHME charger which I like as it worked well with the Octopus Agile tariff. Then it stopped working, around the time I replaced he MG5 PFL with the MG5 FL. It would get a spinning wheel and not connect, or on the few occasions when it did connect it would appear to take my updated...

    Accelerator pedal click

Braking heavily on it's own doesn't do the job very well at all as the "engine" regen is doing the braking up to a point rather than the actual brakes. You need to disengage the drive and brake to make it use the pads. EV brakes will often appear to not be very clean visually as they are used...

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Oh, OK, thanks. It hadn't occurred to me that this might be the case, though I suspect not as it was always still at 80% when I went back in. As it's still showing 100% I'm not about to risk fiddling with it at the moment though!! :-)

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Thanks, I'd previously cleared the cache but not the storage, to no effect. However I've sat for ages retrying this and after a million or more fails suddenly one worked - nothing had changed (except my mood!!). Unfortunately I'd become so mechanical I didn't really register whether it said...

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Thanks for trying @Martinonline, at least I know it's not completely bust then. I pretty much do what you do, i.e. ensure a couple of updates of status etc before changing it. And you're right, even though I've only recently found it, it always took a few goes to make it stick. But I just can't...

    MG4 in Australia

Well I have MG5 in the UK (not MG4 in Oz!!) and I find I cant' change the %age either way from 80%. It was working ok a week or so back. I checked the iSmart version and it's 3.0.1 which I think is very recent (last 4 days or so) so that could be the cause.

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Resurrecting this as I just seem to have got over problems with my old OHME charger which has highlighted another potential issue. The target charge figure in the app is "stuck" at 80%. Whatever I change it to in the (Android) app it goes away for a bit then comes back "Failed" - no reason...

    Bought one

If you're on Octopus, and dependent on your mileage (and other factors e.g. whether you have solar or batteries, general household electricity usage/patterns etc etc ) you might want to revisit your tariff. Tracker seems generally quite good, varies daily and is usually around 20 - 22p a unit...

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

I have OHME at home so I don't change anything in the app but that's worth remembering (and recording here, for others to find!)

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

OK, that's interesting. I've not used the app a lot though I do go in once in a while to see what's going on. I can't see that setting, where is it please? (Maybe it only shows when plugged in?). I've never set Scheduled Charging, and it's turned off. EDIT: OMG I just found it, and it was set...

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Well it relates to an MG5 but happy to move it elsewhere more suitable?

    MG5 Trophy "Charge Done"

Registered in Dec, mostly home charged incl on Monday to 98%. On Tuesday I went to visit someone with an OHME on Octopus IOG and we couldn't get the car to take a charge, and assumed it was down to complications of the OHME and IOG. So I went to some public CCS chargers and tried 3 different...

Archived MG5 exclusive LR PFL for sale

Similar everything to my '71 plater (except colour, I had the premium red) which I sold thru Motorway for somewhere around £10.6k in Dec. I was in a rush and it has some minor scratches on the right rear of the bumper, but tbh I thought at the time it was a reasonable price for a completely...

Wear on Front Tyres at 5500 miles

While I get the concept of rotation surely if you don't rotate then then they just wear out quicker on the front than the back, thereby spreading the cost across two visits (maybe even a year or more apart) for new tyres. I'm sure there is something in having the same wear on each axle but I...

    Check my firmware

Thanks for this, interesting. Is the account tied to a particular car (I suspect not), if not is there anything to stop 2 or more MG5 owners (or even a mix of different MG owners) clubbing together for the hardware, account etc? Once you've downloaded an update presumably that file would work...

Buying a three year old MG5.....

Sold my 3yo one a bit back for £11.6k. :) Call your friendly MG garage and ask the annual cost. Your offer does sound a lot.

    Quirks of the MG5

65 can be a good speed on motorways round here. I'm quite good with lane discipline and tend to move back to the slower lane once I've passed something in it. Then again I often find myself undertaking middle lane people rather than swinging right out to lane 3 even though I'm on a constant 65...
