Bit of good news. Hendy/Pool contacted their operations manager and he was able to confirm it's a Nov 29th build, which is certainly after the august update. They have even cc'd me into their internal emails for reassurance ?
Hats off to them! For anyone else in the same position, I would...
The 10th digit on the VIN, "P" would indicate that it's a 2023 build.
I'm hopeful that I'm wrong and it hasn't been sat somewhere for nearly a year..
Might explain the price drop though!
One final email it is then! Reminded them that their promise of a 2024 build has already been broken. I have asked them to confirm that it is from the post Nov 2024 batch and will refrain from signing documents until this is assured.
Haven been bitten by car sales before, I am truly a pain in...
I have come to accept that my purchase is based purely on emotional needs. At the end of the day, I can't justify the purchase using rational argument... It's just what I want!
I just pray it isn't a lemon with vibe issues.
Haven't signed the finance agreement yet. Asked for the VIN number...
They have admitted they don't know the manufacture date but have insisted all current available stock would be 2024 manufactured. Time shall tell.... They know I will kick off if it is isn't.
I've asked for an update as soon as possible, and will be sent the info before collection. Hopefully...
Yes. I've asked three times verbally and for both managers to confirm in writing that the car is a 2024 build. Which they have done. They are more than aware if it turns out to be manufactured in 2023 it's going straight back to them. So I have my backup plan ?
On order. They have said it'll take 1 week to arrive.
Professional bunch.
Most other garages flat out refused to price match them. Which is hopefully the sign of a good price ?
Deposit placed. MG4 Xpower. Volcano Orange. Collection in 2x weeks.
Vendor - Bournemouth / Pool MG
Couldn't choose between orange and green—was worried I'd get tired of the orange, but the dealer said green's not an option anymore. Guess fate made the call for me! ?
Silly silly purchase...
This is what I have been using to convince the wife. It's not about the power, it's about the AWD and the additional safety. It's about the amazing brakes..... Yes...
It worked, SOLD! Xpower Orange from the dealer in Poole.
I’ve been speaking to this dealer and their price with a 2.9% PCP is the best deal I can find, just waiting to ensure it’s the final price, admin fees included. I don't trust sales people but their reviews are reasonable. How was your experience?
Had another test drive in the Xpower—big rush...
? Yes that is helpful.
I do expect the speed to grow on me. I used to think my mini s was "nippy" and have just had my world turned upside down and have slight whiplash. But would love to drive it again....
Extra benefit of the Xpower is that you will develop a bloomin strong neck!
Current best PCP prices I can get are 26kfor Trophy and 29k Xpower. £50 a month difference.
That's with 2.9% - better cash prices available but not helpful for me. Anything lower price is 8.9% Apr.
They are close enough to make both tempting.
Leaning Xpower.... Slightly
Just drove the Xpower and Trophy. Being honest the sport mode on Xpower isn't for me. Just too much Welly that I'll have no opportunity to use on these local roads.
Eco or normal mode was a pleasure. Turns out I'm not the adrenaline junkie I thought I am.
Xpower had a slight edge in terms of...
Unfortunately PCP as I'm cash poor at the moment. Just searched and and noted there's a couple cash only options. Rats! ?
My local dealer (2miles) has the SE for 20k which seems a crazy good deal. Pain in the but through as 30k seems like the best PCP price on the one that my heart wants...
I've looked everywhere I can find. Thus far all the 26k deals have been misleading business only prices advertised to get customers in.
I'd have one at 26 in a flash if I were eligible, unless there's a dealer you have seen that I haven't?
Cheers
Thanks! Finding this a tough call as I have a price of 20k available from a local dealer for a new se... And 10k more for the Xpower. Very Large difference. With 5k it would be a no brainer to me!
Hi all,
Looking for some advice to make sure I have my brain straight for looking at my options tomorrow.
Putting finances asside, I'd like to ask if anyone who purchased an Xpower found that they found the novelty wore off.... Or whether the fun of drivcing it has felt worthwhile. We are...
