    12V battery charge level

This thread has just reminded me to go out and connect my CTEK charger to give the 12V battery its annual recondition. The charger is hard wired to the 12V battery and lives in the battery compartment...

    12V battery charge level

13.8 - 14.0V is a good charging voltage but depends on what demands are being put on it. A healthy battery "at rest" (measured with no load on battery, fully charged, disconnect charger, leave for 24 hours) is c.12.7V. Many articles on the web do not mention depletion rates. It's no good testing...

The great big insurance rip off

The LV policy via A-Plan says, on the top of the insurance certificate, "LV Broker" and underwritten by Highway Insurance Co. Ltd.. I would think Brokers get a better deal than us mere mortals and depends then how much they can give back on the premium, how much they want your business and still...

The great big insurance rip off

£396 last year for new FL5, 72 plate, January 2023 reg. Renewal a few days ago, £412. So asked if they could do it for £400 and include this time around, protected NCD and Legal Protection. Broker agreed, so happy days. Maybe worth others trying A-Plan, often overlooked, what's to lose? Ok, has...

    MG iSmart 2.0 [merged]

App ok again on FL5 apart from....... Remote features for rear screen & front screen not communicating. Lock/unlock feature working though. Currently charging OK, just the remote access issue. Hopefully it'll resolve itself ???

I feel your anger Les, getting exactly the same here with FL MG5 and Android.

How come the updated app works fine for some owners and not others? I'm in the latter camp, totally pissed off

Strong competition for the MG 5 EV in everything Price.

Being an avid VX fan (sad eh?), I'd take one tomorrow over my FL5 just for the boot capacity. Not so keen on the price though.

Do any quality manufacturers offer 12V batteries for MG4?

A mid price leisure battery can be had for less tha £90 and that's for a 120Ah one. But the ones we fit on a daily basis of this Ah to our fleet of boats are maybe 1.5x the size of the existing MG battery. Just trying to say thatl eisure batteries don't have to be that much more expensive.

Can I use this 12V battery on my MG4?

I guess it would but again, it's got a CCA. In your previous thread, "we" mentioned using a leisure type battery (no CCA) but heh ho, it's your choice.

12V battery (theres many of these!)

Look for a non-starter battery, aka "leisure" battery, maybe the Banner Bull for example. Designed for multiple discharge cycles where cranking current isn't required.

MG smart app clashing with Ohme charger app

Our Ohme Pro - remove schedules from Ohme to act as a "dumb" charger. All schedules and/or instant cherging, done through app (y)

Do any quality manufacturers offer 12V batteries for MG4?

Simple for me - don't use a starter type battery, use a leisure battery instead, maybe from Banner Batteries? This is the way I'll be going when my OEM 12V battery packs up.

    MG4 X Power First 1000 Miles.

What's a rough figure for the insurance? I know we all have different circumstances but a rough idea would be helpful.

    Disconnecting 12V and vehicle settings.

If I disconnevt the -ve on the battery, do you lose settings like radio and preferences when the supply is reconnected?

    Acceleration at higher speeds

As a first stop, I'd look at the coolant level just to rule out a cooling problem.

    Gridserve app?

Availability as in where they are or "are they occupied and in use? Location is via Gridserve website, Gridserve "React" app or ZapMap. To find out if they're in use, I use ZapMap.
