Problem connecting the vehicle via iSmart

Mine used to do this a lot, but after one of the app updates, it is now rare and usually only after a couple of days being idle. I found that when it happened, if you ask the app for the status before sitting on the seat to power it up, the 12V battery was typically 12.1 or 12.2 V compared to...

Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

I wasn't referring to your calculation. The bit I think is problematic is mostly how MG calculate the energy used. If they work off the difference in battery voltage each time, they are measuring tiny differences in voltage which are prone to many different types of error e.g. the various...

Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

My gut feeling is that the main reasons for the discrepancy you're seeing will due to the measurements and calculations done to provide the accumulated distance and accumulated kWh per 100km that you're using. As a user, teasing apart how much error is in each figure could be quite challenging...

    First long trip

I've always found the dedicated demist button under the infotainment screen works very quickly. I assume it sets all the settings (blower direction, speed, heat and recirculation) to the most efficient for demist. A second press should revert to the previous settings I think. I would check it's...

Stuck without a key or a functional app

There's a slight chance that clearing the cache (from Android or within the app), could reset it enough to fix the problem without needing a phone signal or WiFi. Worth a try. Clearing the data from settings should be the same as uninstall/ reinstall, but not helpful here as you would then...

    ACC

Me too. Others have suggested adding speed limiter options to the ACC/TJA long press button, which may also work. Maybe add a 4th distance (or long press) to the radar arrow keys for radar off? I'm not holding my breath for a retro fit to our models though 🙁.

    ACC

After thinking a little, not a lot! The features I would use are already present in the car, so in my mind it would take little extra to allow better control of them. The MG4 is perfectly good enough, it's just it could be better.

    ACC

Personally I want different combinations of features for different road conditions. Easily switching speed control between, off, cruise and speed limiter, would be good. Switching radar speed control on/off, even for speed limiter mode would be good. And if TJA's lane control was accurate...

MG4 - How do I turn it off..?

I did a quick scan of the replies, and it looks like no one has mentioned that on later versions of the software you can also drag down from the top of the screen and hit the off button. I don't know if it's just me or my car, but half the time it turns back on as I shift my weight to get out...

mg4 i Smart charging outside scheduled time.

The app can change the times set in the car, but sometimes when you tell it to do so the new settings fail to get set in the car.

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

Same here. In fact I've been back quite a lot this year helping clear the old family home, so any reds you see could be me.

mg4 i Smart charging outside scheduled time.

The actual start and stop of scheduled charging is controlled only by the car, and the settings shown in the car have been reliable in my experience. Ismart should be able to tell you the current state of the schedule and charge limit set in the car, and also to change these values, however...

Switch added to accelerator pedal to activate rear lights.

I would expect that the level of regen would need to drop below 3 or 4 % (not 7 or 8%) before the lights turn off again. This is to stop the lights from flashing when the regen is hovering around the 6 to 8% region for a period. This may explain @Joningy 's comment - if the initial lift off...

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a white on a driveway in Frampton Cotterell a couple of times, and in the evening on the 12th a red at the traffic lights there. Not yours by any chance? I was a passenger in another car at the time so you wouldn't have seen my red parked half a mile away.

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

I can't explain it rationally either, and I'm in the OPD camp. Mostly it just feels 'right' or the natural way to drive. All the differences seem very minor to me and are dealt with subconsciously whether in OPD, non OPD or in a manual ICE. I think the biggest difference for me is actually the...

    USB power

If it is not just for occasional use, I would look at fitting a permanently wired 12V socket in the back of the arm rest or other place of your choosing. 12V splitters are easy to dislodge accidentally. I would hope this would be a simple and relatively cheap job to get done professionally if...

    Reverse camera help

The camera i have is different, but I did a similar thing to get the cable through the rubber tube from boot lid to car body more easily, see pictures in this post: Post in thread 'Reverse Camera SE LR' Reverse Camera SE LR The cut in the cable was up near the control box for easy access in...

Had the Dreaded 12V Battery Drain Overnight

If the 12V battery is being drained by non essential circuits and will shortly go flat anyway, why doesn't it turn off those non essential circuits when there's still just enough battery to unlock the car and start it I wonder?

To use or not use A/C in hot weather

Sorry, I misjudged your post to be surprised by the poor consumption in wind and rain, and assumed it was your first EV.
