    Parking Buttons

From the manual: Parking Brake System - Electronic Parking Brake ( EPB ). • Manual operation: Pull up the EPB switch to turn on the EPB system after the vehicle is parked safely. When the vehicle is powered on, press the brake pedal and press the EPB switch to turn off the EPB system. •...

MG4 SE LR says 100% charge but only 165 miles shows

No display for kWh so you have to apply the percentage to the usable battery capacity off of the MG website. It's about 60kWh for the long range I think.

Carrying cargo vs seat belt warning

But an 18Kg dog will set it off just sometimes - not often enough for us to remember to engage the unused seat belts 🙄.

    Parking Buttons

In the version of the manual that I have it only refers to the 'Electronic Parking Brake' (EPB) for the 'Electronic Handbrake' that you describe and is applied by the EPB switch, the Parking Mode button, and for other reasons as you describe. The physical lever that you and others in earlier...

    Parking Buttons

He doesn't say what car he has in his profile so it may not be an MG4 🤷.

    Parking Buttons

Hitting the big one puts the car in to Park mode: The electronic parking brake EPB is applied and the car won't move if you press the accelerator. Pushing/pulling the button on the right just turns the EPB on and off. When on, using the accelerator will release it automatically. So when...

SE SR failing to pre-heat while plugged in

Purely a guess, but maybe the HV battery needs to be totally idle while balancing so the cell voltages are virtually static and hence the measured voltages are as accurate as possible ?

    Heating fan intermittent/not working

Also worth checking for why it may have failed. In my case on a Focus, the fan motor was beginning to seize. This in turn was caused by water running in down the air duct, and that was caused by the pollen filter being replaced at service by bending the cover up instead of unclipping properly...

MG4 powering other stuff (Vehicle to Load aka ‘V2L’)

Does anyone know if having the boiler electrics supplied via a free plug is allowable? I assume earthing requirements would have to be met somehow, but other than that? If OK and it's just adding an extra plug and socket to the circuit I might be tempted to get ours changed, as it sounds like...

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

If I did something like this I would want it to automatically return to normal when driving. I suspect one of the wiring looms under the dashboard has a suitable 12V signal which could operate a relay wired in parallel with the new switch, to force them on. Just have to hope such signals are...

Twelve Volt Battery Dead after 2 Week Holiday

Aghhh, no idea how i did that. Should have been 12.3 to 12.7 🤭. So the range has just dropped by .2 in the last few months.

1st service due soon - MG Assist now an extra?

£104 at drive MG Weston-super-Mare including AA cover, although I haven't checked it's been updated with th AA themselves yet.

How do you treat your MG4?

Just the UK I believe. They forgot to do it with the rest of the type approvals most likely, and now they can't be bothered.

Twelve Volt Battery Dead after 2 Week Holiday

Agree on the refreshes. It feels like when you ask the app for status it turns on a few circuits in the car and it takes 30s or so for the battery to droop with the extra load. Mine always used to settle at 3.3 to 3.7V after a few refreshes, depending on when the last 12V top up occurred I...

Whistling noise from rear spoiler (merged)

The European equivalent is think TI-20231228-EH32. The file: TI-20231228-EH32- Rear Subframe lower guard to Battery Gap - CEE.pdf from @siteguru 's website http://www.siteguru.co.uk/MG4/Manuals/ has a photo of a typical example. Mine was possibly not that bad and certainly no worse - it was...

Saving driving mode, speed limiter etc permanently + rear de-mister issue

This increment behaviour sounds like older firmware used to operate when in ACC. After you have selected manual speed limiter via the menus each time you turn the car on, is it possible that it has reverted back to ACC mode some how (check back in the menu) ? Another thought is when in manual...

    Ooh - an intrusion warning!

I've had 3 instances of opening the boot setting of the alarm over the last year. I've yet to see anything common between the 3 occasions when it happened, let alone a reason for it. The car was locked and the key in my pocket on each occasion 🤷.

Is Todhills or Gretna the best place to stop for charging on M6 Southbound?

I haven't used it, but as it's attached to a hotel you have to register at the front desk to avoid parking fines, and the Tesla app suggests there's an entry code too.

    Wish list of MG4 improvements

And while they're at it, windows closed or not. Something in my distant memory tells me this would just be an app change as the information is already gathered 🤔.

    Battery bar colour

If you see a message popup but can't find it in that list, I think it means the error condition has already cleared completely and can ignored. The eSOS fault that many used to get used to do this.
