So. MG4. FWD or RWD ? 🤔.
As far as I'm aware it's RWD.
Until yesterday when I visited a friend, reversed up their gravel drive up a reasonable incline. Took it easy so as to not disturb the gravel too much. Was quite pleased with the way it was going until the front wheels got on the gravel...
For all of the tech/auto/assists I'm saying I don't want or need, I just discovered how much I love the autobrake when drivers door's open facility.
Got home, reversed into drive chatting with wife about the success of our road trip ( we don't get out much ).
Went to climb out and the car shot...
Having just done a 1000 mile round trip on mainly motorways ( incl. Cornish equivalent A30) I noticed an interesting thing re consumption several times. Driving at speeds upto speed limitish, say 50-70, consumption was showing 2.6 - 2.9 ( again, ish). And not that I ever would, but should I have...
Following a thousand mile round trip from pointy end of Cornwall to the Lake District ( UK) and back again over the last week, I have to reiterate ( with no sweary bits this time) this is a truly amazing car. Not a single hiccup ( bar weird infotainment recycling itself for 2 hours /50 miles...
Car has done 2k miles with not a hiccup on Android auto. Did 250 miles yesterday, no problem.
Today, 50 miles no problem then started cycling. Always used Waze (GPS) and VLC (tunes). It is resetting to same point in both over about 10 second period. Have powered phone off/on a couple of times...
In my old 2018 kia Soul there was plenty of useful onboard power supplies including a 12v in the boot which I used to use to transport chilled stuff in an Outwell coolbox. This is ac/dc switchable so when I got to my destination I'd put it on the DC supply of the property I'm staying in.
Zoom...
Done bloke looking ?. Have seen posts including start up error messages that clear with reset or reboot ( or patience), but can't find this one.
I didn't bother with the autohold feature for the first couple of months after taking delivery but then thought I'd give it a go. Got used to it and...
As one of the few and far between allowances for not wearing a seatbelt in the UK, why does my MG4 prevent me from moving when I'm in reverse until I connect my seatbelt ( sometimes) ?
Had a call from the sales rep that sold me the car in February today, general catch up and how ya doin'. During the course of the conversation ( I was asking how sales are going as I'm seeing a lot more around now ) he said that there was a facelift model and an estate coming later this year...
So, looking through breakers and came across this (very) sad sight.
Hopefully no-ones on here ?
What do you reckon then looking at the damage ? Unexpected sharp braking ? ?
There, I've said it. 'tis a brilliant car 'n' I loves it ??.
Having just completed my 2nd 500+ mile round trip, this one in a little over 24 hours with a fair bit of business including a guerrilla funeral and wake (not the animal!!) , I gotta say, despite having to deal with ridiculously heavy...
So, having had a helluva day escaping the gravitational pull of Cornwall full of tourists and making it back to the midlands in a mere 7 hours(!!), with 2 charges on the way, rather than sitting in a hotel room planning our journey back tomorrow ( and sleeping of which there will be plenty) we...
Does anyone else find the indicator lights that wrap around the outside edge of the mirrors a distraction?.
I do, especially at night on unlit multi lane roads. Moving from the outside lane to the nearside lane, indicating, looking across to make sure the nearside lane is as clear as I thought...
So, happen to be sitting in the car, doing nothing for a good while.
I pulled up and parked, so am in 'ready' mode with park brake on.
Can I just sit here doing nothing and it won't waste electrons?
What if I want a bit of warmth and music. Obviously don't want to take the top off the 12v...
Likely to be trying to use DC charging on the public network in the midst of Storm Nelson later on today (I'm going home, I've done my time etc ??).
MG manual says don"t charge in rain, don't consider it if it's even mildly wet, don't stand in puddles and dry everything thoroughly if it's even...
Do you just pull the wheel covers til they pop off ? May be trying to remove them to check if they cause the minor vibration I posted about earlier but don't want to damage them in doing so ( don't know my own strength) .... and if that's all that's required, what's to stop little scrotes...
Having done a 250+ mile trip a few days ago, during which there were short periods of 'excessive speed', I noticed some minor vibration via the steering wheel. As the journey was mostly on our poorly maintained motorways and trunk roads (A30/M5), I wasn't sure whether it was as a result of the...
So tomorrow I'm off for my first (and unexpected) 500+ mile round trip in the MG4 (se lr). I have previously been doing it (every 6 weeks, last 4 years) in a 30kwh Soul (ChadeMo) using Electroverse / Osprey / Grideserve etc.
I really fancy trying the Tesla chargers so have downloaded the app...
Had the squeaky bum moment this morning with the 12V battery showing 12.2 after just 6 days of ownership. Due to trying to be proactive and not end up with windows inadvertently being left down when I'm not with the car, I'd got into the habit of using the power off button in safety to totally...
