Tried all the above. Had a MG4 hire car from MG while they fixed it, and went to Ullapool Scotland. Many charging stops there and back with no issues at all. Only difference, mine is first gen model, hire car was the newer one.

Won’t charge on a rapid charger, the charger starts the handshake and then the car terminates the connection. On the lower power chargers 7kW like at home there are no problems fortunately.

I went to London from Leicester, and found the problem on my return journey. Eventually used one of the slow chargers at a service station and got fined for exceeding 2 hours! Not one of my best trips.

Out of the blue, as far as I know. Couldn’t say exactly when as I don’t rapid charge that often. MG are so very very slow to do anything though. I think it went in at least 4 separate times before they decided to order the part. They just kept trying to reset everything hoping it would correct it.

I occasionally start up and the radio stations are not displayed and unavailable, But if I go to FM it usually works and also wakes it up! I then go back to DAB and it’s all there again.

Well, it finally went in for the “battery reset” today, and guess what, still not resolved. Still registering a temp of 86deg so will not complete the handshake. Just waiting yet again for MG to pull their finger out. Not been able to rapid charge since September. So very very disappointing.

I think it’s a bit deeper than just disconnecting the 12v battery, it’s resetting the main battery somehow.

Just an update regarding my issue. Managed to speak to someone and got my appointment brought forward. Apparently MG want to restart the battery to see if it corrects the issue.
