    How to drive an electric?

When I drove an automatic car whilst on holiday in Australia I was forever turning on the wipers when trying to flip the indicator stalk.

    Beware of car insurance costs

I have one. I dont even mention it in case they say you always have to use it. I only put it on outside my house as our local ring doorbells group has videos of people in the middle of the night coming up to the front door with those key scanner theft things. I also keep the keys in a blocking...

    In Praise of the ZS

I just choose cottages I can charge at, even if that's via a granny charger. I just ask if its possible before I book, always stating I will pay for the electricity. If its not possible either because they don't want to, don't have a dedicated chargepoint or a properly wired outside 3 pin plug...

    Complete newbie seeking advice

I heat or cool on normal setting until the temp is comfortable then switch to Eco and turn down heating or switch off a/c. That way I travel in the comfort I want but with the highest efficiency I can get for that comfort. I also select clothing that assists in being the right level of comfort...

How to turn OFF the lights while AC and power is on????

I think if you use a OBD2 dongle you can switch the daytime running lights off. Though once you turn off the car and switch it back on, they will be on again.

Intelligent Speed Assist, can it be permanently switched on.

It would be better if if could stay which ever way you want it set. But If it can't I'd rather it defaulted to off rather than always be on when you switch on the car. Its not too great anyway as it loses the limit if you turn into new road and there is no sign immediately saying its eg 20 mph...

MG ZS EV VIN Number Check

That would sound about right. Keeping the heater always on will also eat range. Note I dont want to be cold but once the car is warm enough I will turn it off or down. I then just switch heating and heated seats on and off as required when it gets too cold again. I dont keep it on all the time...

MG ZS EV VIN Number Check

If you can set at 80% its long range. 170 miles range for 100% seems low unless its say minus 5 and you are doing motorway speed's or very short journeys where the battery hadn't had time to heat up.

    400 mile day....

If I was stopped for 2 hours over several stops, then whilst stopped I could be browsing my phone on forums like this, watching TV, listening to music, having a nap. If I got home 2 hours earlier instead, I could use that two hours at home browsing my phone on forums like this, watching TV...

    Car battery to charge house

Mine goes for a short while after closing the car down but then switches off after a few minutes. It does not switch off straight away as soon as I close the car down.

    Car battery to charge house

I bought MGs own one. Glyn Hopkins sell them. It has has two weatherproof sockets to plug into and a pretty long cable. I've never had need of it yet for power cuts. But I have used it for when vacuuming the car. Annoyingly my car still switches off V2L after a few minutes if the car is turned...

    Reduced range in winter (merged)

How cold are you referring to and what miles per kwh. If its in the minus temps and you are doing lots of short journeys with no time to heat up the battery, you may get a low miles per kwh eg high 2's.

Car tax from 2025 and the Expensive Car threshold

The car envy tax threshold will never increase from £40k. I wouldn't buy a car, new or used, if I had to pay it. I've no problem with the standard VED or pay per mile, when it is inevitably introduced sometime in the future, but not a tax based on envy.
