MG5 PCP Lease ending later this year

Regarding corrosion, I will be using Lanoguard on mine. Tow bar / roof rails / LED headlights may be a deal breaker for you.

    Granny charger safety

I would be making sure the extension lead is fully unwound and that any sockets/plugs are under cover to prevent water coming into contact. My granny charger uses less energy than my electric kettle. They are perfectly safe - if you have any doubts about your electricity supply, get in an...

Are dealer servicing charges over expensive?

I have used MG Ashford for one service about £200 - for what they do it is expensive but you do get i year AA cover and warranty. The warranty seems to exclude certain items depending on the age of the car. Travelling from East Kent my only other nearest dealer is in Tonbridge. It is only once a...

Buying a three year old MG5.....

The number of electric cars coming from China remind me of the influx of Japanese cars in the 1970’s. They were rubbished by home manufacturers but succeeded with value and reliability. I wonder if Chinese products will follow a similar path? Just a thought?

Buying a three year old MG5.....

This one is a much better buy in my opinion - only 13,000 miles. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202502139062256?sort=distance&twcs=true&searchId=324a6873-544f-4544-84da-b98958911597&advertising-location=at_cars&make=MG&model=MG5&page=2&postcode=CT14%207TH&fromsra

Buying a three year old MG5.....

I think you can get better for just a bit more money. Obviously it is your decision and you may be very satisfied with the car. My thoughts are that it may have had a hard life and not been looked after ( apart from servicing) by the previous owner. Look at Gomev’s advert above - 20,000 less...

Buying a three year old MG5.....

It would have to be a very good price for me to accept those faults. What mileage and price may I ask?

Intermittent Radio (switch on at start)

On my MG5 the radio is constantly on! To switch it off I just use the mute button. I don’t believe it is a fault - just the way it works. Unusual compared to other cars but I just accept it is just Chinese wizardry and laugh! On the whole the car has been extremely reliable. Fingers crossed!

    Rear Window Smashed

    Upholstery Wear

I have read some threads regarding seat wear in MG models. The photo below was taken from an advert on AutoTrader - the car has done 127,000 miles. Not sure of the year but it is a long range version. Obviously I have no idea how the vehicle has been used, for example as a Taxi or just a single...

    Seat Belt Device ?

Does anyone know what these red covers (?) are called or where I can purchase them? They look helpful for rear seat passengers to find and fix their seatbelts?

MG4 Boot Base Board Broken – Replacement Cost?

Not sure how handy you are Neil, but I would make one from plywood and cover it with a rubber boot mat. One you can get from carmats.co.uk - You can cut it to size and stick it on the wood with a suitable adhesive - or just lay the rubber mat over the plywood to hide it. Plywood would probably...
