I am not mechanically minded or knowledgeable but I wonder if the MG3 hybrid has a “wet” timing belt? That is in oil. In other makes they have had problems with this type of cambelt. Wonder if they are trying to prevent future issues? Just my thoughts.

The economics are straightforward, if you are buying a car. You know how much you are prepared to spend - for example if your budget is £14,000 then YOU decide what car you wish to buy. You can buy a Rolls Royce for that sort of money - I would not advise that as the running costs will be huge...

Really can’t see why it is so much. A Lexus hybrid Major service at Lexus is around £500. I think that is the 60.000 mile service.
