AFAIK there’s no setting to enable CarPlay, mine just worked from the outset. Ditto the phone charging. I have a Carlinkit device, so I don’t need to keep plugging/unplugging my phone.

@Big Ears I understand that it’s now possible to unbind a vehicle from the iSMART app - maybe they were doing this in the belief that it was necessary to bind the car to a new phone? As previously mentioned, the car is bound to one account, but can be accessed by any phone using the same login...

@Big Ears Just log yourself in, and anyone else will automatically be logged out.

I think that the OTA updates only refer to the infotainment. (Not that it actually does that either)! ☹️ Apologies if that was what you meant……..

@WestAussieNick Your wife needs to log into the app with the same login that you have already set up. However, I agree with the principle that, ideally, 2 people should be able to actively use the app without one logging out the other.

I didn’t see that. I agree on the customisation, although my car is silver, so it looks okay to me.

Oh how I agree with you! I have very happily used CC on many cars previously, but my ZS is the first I have had with ACC. I just don’t like it.

I have the MG ZS. So, different versions for different cars!

Oh, that’s odd - I still have it on mine, although it usually says ‘sunroof open’ on the first pass!

I have found Carlinkit is much more reliable if the phone is not paired to the car at all. As others have said, program the Carlinkit with a 30 second delay for best results.

On an iPhone, you can also use your fingerprint or Face ID (depending on what your phone offers), to save remembering a password. It’s on the last screen under ‘security settings’.

I use Apple maps - much the same I suppose - I just say ‘Siri, take me to……’ Much less hassle than keying in on the built in satnav.

I knew nothing about EV’s, but I did a lot of research before deciding that the ZS would suit my needs. I also worried about the techy stuff that some forum members posted. However, I was encouraged to go ahead, and it’s all been fine. Charge it and drive it. It’s very quiet and comfortable...

@fred12345 Thank you for your reply. I use Spotify - ‘settings in CarPlay’? Where would that be - I don’t seem to have that. Anyway, I guess it doesn’t really matter, as I have all the album art when the CarPlay screen itself is open, and that’s what I usually have on. If I ever see album art...
