    Problem with MG ZS EV Smartkey Detection;

this is in the '5 manual. May apply to the ZS too: Inadvertent Locking of Keys in Vehicle If the vehicle is locked using the mechanical key blade or handset whilst a smart key/s remain inside, the following actions will occur: • One smart key locked in the vehicle - The immobilisation release...

Geniepoint will let you register your own RFID card. I use my Octopus Electric Highway card for my Geniepoint account as well.. You could just use one off your other 'gratis' ones or your fob.

    Regen. when braking - how?

Yeah, I was hoping that when they do the brake light fix for KERS, they would up KERS3 to the max at the same time. Seems not though.

    Regen. when braking - how?

Page 168 of the (LR) manual Cooperative Regenerative Braking System (CRBS) The vehicle is equipped with a cooperative regenerative braking system, this converts the kinetic energy of the vehicle into electric energy while braking and stores the energy in the HV battery, so as to prolong the...

    Regeneration brake lights

So - based on Alb's figures there, if it did come on at lower speeds (well, lower deceleration) then that would also be out of spec and an MOT fail, so it's a proper job rather than half a job. I guess if the threshold is too low then your lights would be on and off all the time. The person may...

MG5 KERS 3 & Brake Light Operation - Safety Recall?

Booked mine in at a little place in Chorley. Needed a Saturday though so its a couple of weeks out (mid december). Just a thought @MilesperkWh - will that be at the new premises by then?

    MG5 Auto lock

Remembered to give this a go yesterday then forgot to post! Yeah, it looks like the rear internal door handles don't unlock the car at all. Never noticed before as the people in the back generally get out when I do!

MG5 EV Range is Very Exaggerated

Other than relative for a current car's performance, MPG never really made much sense to me either - especially as petrol / diesel are priced in litres. I always used to work it back to pence per mile (and watch that slowly increase). That's the figure that actually impacts me. With the scenic...

Must admit though - I don't tend to sit in the back. I'll check that next time I'm in the car.

    MG5 Auto lock

Hmm. I can only assume that the button has got pressed in your pocket, as the 5 doesn't auto-lock when you walk away. The only alternative is that you had it locked at first, then unlocked it, but didn't open any of the doors within a minute or so. Then it assumes it was unlocked in error and...

    MG5 Auto lock

was the car locked 'automatically' (i.e. after driving over 6MPH) or with the key / door button? I would assume that the keys 'deadlock' the car. Don't remember seeing that in the manual, but it has been the case with other cars.

MG5 KERS 3 & Brake Light Operation - Safety Recall?

Yeah, updates are dealer only unfortunately. No OTA connectivity. and I guess the process isn't slick or error-free enough for you to self-apply with a USB stick or similar.

    Mg 5 rear heated windscreen

likewise (5LR) - I too was slightly surprised - but only because I was sure I had read somewhere that the top and bottom 'element' lines were the antenna, but the top demisted and the bottom few didn't.... That does leave me slightly more reassured about fitting a rear dashcam though. I had...

    Regeneration brake lights

Well, I guess this all depends on whether the brake lights cone on via a hardware or software controlled relay. Like you say - this has usually been a switch. On my first car (Ford Fiesta MkII) there was literally a button that the brake pedal pressed when it was up. press the brake pedal, and...

    MG5 LR Charging

Yeah - one lesson I have learned here is that I need to always check which forum a post is on (especially if going in through 'new posts'), and to check out what people are actually driving in case they have also been caught out cross-forum.

    Regeneration brake lights

Also - this thread is specific to the MG5. I'm not aware if the brake light not coming on when regenerating is an issue on the HS (or, for that matter, if the regenerative braking is sharp enough on the hybrid for it to be a problem)
