    Speed Assist System (SAS)

Thought that was just me - yeah, the 'far' setting is probably where I would expect the 'middle' one to be... Saying that, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference between the three (not that I've had much time to play with ACC on suitable roads yet)

    DAB RADIO

Our 5LR is generally on DAB and it's fine for us. (North West area) Have you installed a dahscam? the antenna is in the window I believe (a couple of the wires around the rear window are antenna, not demiister) and there have been reports of rear dashcams interfering with the DAB signal.

    Granny Charger !!!!!!

Just make sure it's 13A rated, and check it doesn't get too warm on the first go... Personally, I use the IKEA TAADFRI switch whilst I'm still on the Granny (hypervolt installation next week) as I have their hub and smart lights. THat works a treat, is rated well above the 10A of the charger...

    Speed Assist System (SAS)

Yeah, it says in the manual for the ‘5 that National Speed Limit is assumed to be 60. HS is probably the same.

Video doing the rounds to update climate control

That menu looks like it’s software config foot attached hardware. I would be interested to hear if this is actually working as auto climate control or if it just looks like it is. Just because you have told the head unit that it can do this doesn’t necessarily mean that the required hardware...

choosing option with Climate with ºC through enginering secret option menu.

Get the google translate app. Download chinese, point your camera at the screen, bingo. Can't say there's anything on there that's worth changing though. It's mostly telling the car what hardware is installed (heated seat type, parking sensor type etc.) If you're in there, I would tread very...

    Electricity prices to rise?

That makes 2 of us. You took out avro, and I left green (for Octopus and Zog!) Still waiting for a final (£85ish) bill from green, and am about £200 in credit….

    Rear Seat Not Engaging

Yeah - I drove for a bit with the smaller side not engaged properly. Didn't realise until I next went to put it down. Just needed a slightly firmer push for me though.

Speed limiter on MG EHS PHEV?

Yeah, intelligent is as good as useless, especially given that in this mode you can't set a limit on all the roads that it misses (or there are no signs) and that's normally the 30 zones where it would be most useful.

    5LR Forward Collision System

Hi All. Just looking for a bit of advice / experience on how this should work. My system is set to 'Emergency braking'. It has never done this, and I'm not of a mind to drive at something to test it... The manual seems to suggest that you have an alert mode, and an 'Emergency braking...

    Rapid charging problem

I think your understanding may be off slightly. CCS is the combo plug. It’s a Type 2 connector with 2 additional pins on the bottom for DC. The plug without those pins is just an AC Type 2 connector and will only charge at 6.6Kw. -edit - on the phone.!hopefully moved the image…

Speed limiter on MG EHS PHEV?

If it’s anything like the 5 you have to turn it back on in the infotainment every drive. Oh, and let me know how well it copes in a 20 zone on Intelligent mode. The ZS reportedly is fine, but both 5s I have driven throw an error. Once it’s on in infotainment, it works off the ACC stalk in the...

Does anyone actually use Speed Assist on the 5LR?

Check it out of you get a chance. with ISA on, it doesn't read 20 as 70, it just throws a dashboard error and switches ISA off (at least it does on mine and the Chorley MG test drive car)

Does anyone actually use Speed Assist on the 5LR?

yeah. Intelligent isn't great - hence why I think it should have a manual override. I tend to use the manual speed assist - that's the same as I used to have in my Scenic. Works the same as cruise, but setting a speed limiter instead of a target speed. The main annoyance for me though is that...

    Roof bar position

Personally, I put the front bar just behind the front join, and the back just in front of the back join (so, pretty much as close to the rail mountings as possible.). No real science behind this other than it seems to make sense, and fits nicely with my roof box so that I can open the boot...

    Rapid chargers.

No maximum. The car will limit it. If you use a 350Kw it’ll still just deliver 80 max (and less most of the time dependent on battery temperature and charge level. ) Of course, if there’s a 100 and a 350 next to each other, use the 100 and leave the 350 for someone who can benefit from it, but...

    Brakes failed

That's a worrying response. So are they effectively saying that installing a dash cam invalidates the warranty?

    AC charging.

Nope. Same as the standard. Single phase, slightly under 7KW.
