    Tomato Energy

EoN are clueless - still waiting for a final bill, 3 months on - Octopus got me up and running in 3 days ( with everything incl. meter readings ) - let wait n see on Tomato, as it will only save around £20 / month on our usage / standing charges.

    XPower Insurance Renewal Refused

I've also just renewed (albeit a basic SE into its 3rd year), and has come down to sensible(ish) levels again at around £350 (which is what I paid 2 years ago-last year was £450+? - All underwritten by LV, but changed 'companies'). For young adults, the best way is through (in our case) a lease...

    Numberplate screws

You can get the threaded plastic fixings from halfords / the range for £2-£3 depending on colour / store - all standard size on the rear - e.g. https://www.therange.co.uk/diy/motoring/maintenance/maintenance-accessories/number-plate-fixings/?position=2&s=148449#148449

    MG4 internet, data limits

As an SR user, but am sure that it does exist (as you can dial into the car in or from any location), not sure what having 'unlimited' data means via the MG4, as albeit in the UK, we have unlimited wifi via BT/EE homehubs + own mobile phone (and / or combined?)

    MG4 eSim

Nope, an eSIM was what we used in turkey in recent months, but otherwise just used the basic wifi / ? = around £10? roaming costs.

    Charging on the M6 Southbound

have a look on Fastneds website for the charge curve, its around 10kW at 85% +, depending on temp / chemistry etc. 260 miles is way above our capabilities (basic SR), just get to near destination, and topup (as we can get around 86kW below 40% SoC) - you'll only need to charge once in the summer.

    Charging on the M6 Southbound

    (y) (y) Fantastic, also great to see that they have thought about the double lane (non-tesla) hoggers. I was at Flint mountain, and The Trafford Centre over the bank holiday weekend - where at both (1st time ever), you had to wait! - which didn't help with double lane hoggers (both were ID.3's)...

Shock, Horror, Gobsmacked - I've left Octopus!

In the summer months utilita does appear to be a good deal, with its zero standing charge? and sensible rates thereafter: First Rate 52.25p per kWh (I thinks its the 1st 2kWh) Saver Rate 20.91p per kWh

Shock, Horror, Gobsmacked - I've left Octopus!

    Charging on the M6 Southbound

... just search on the Tesla (non Tesla-cars), there are many these days open to non-tesla cars. Gretna Green (Outlet village), Todhills (southbound only), and then your are into Flint mountain, Trafford Shopping centre or Trentham gardens. Its been 6 months since I've need another charger aside...

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

Hi @spence7788 I dont suppose you have any link(s) to instructions/photos as to how one changes the gearbox reduction oil? - whilst I realise that its a Shell SL2808 product to refill, are there 2 ports? , or a single port? - thanks in advance. EDIT: dont worry I think I've found it under post...

You CAN road trip an SE SR

... at the end of the day, whether its 7p or 3.5p, for the basic home owner is a saving of less than a pound (and thats only if you take 30kw from the grid) ... yes if there is a million of use then its a £1m to OE, however grid balancing is where the money is??

8 kW Solar + 11 kWh Battery + Ohme EV + Immersion Heater + Intelligent Octopus

They good news is that you appear to be on a winter setting, so you can try things out over the winter. Most folk have a summer & winter setting - in our case its a simple hardware fix (of moving a CT clamp from one mains in wire to another ) - but I'm sure we can all help each other out to help...

You CAN road trip an SE SR

... which basically means that you need a compatibe charger to get it at 3.5p, i.e. if you just use the granny charger ther you'll get charged as normal. - I got an extra 17p the other week as it was free 1-2pm.

You CAN road trip an SE SR

    (y) we had to do the same yesterday - I assume that IOG is working as normal, albeit it at 1/2 price (i.e. 3,5p) if you've triggered it to on via the car - home use should be the same as its near impossible to distinguish between home n car use - We've set the charge rate to 3.84kw, so always...
