    The AA man who attended mine tried his laptop and another vans laptop and got nothing. He then rooted around in his van and found a cheap eBay wired generic OBD reader which detected 3 fault codes, but said it couldn't reset them. Got further than his laptop though ?.

    There's not even any electronics inside it, just one single 420 ohm resistor to identify it as a V2L lead so the car can recognise what type of lead is plugged in.
