Yes it is. Tesla pushed their price as much as they could whilst still maintaining orders. I agree that they were over priced but they continued to sell. Now sales have stalled, they are falling to a more realistic level.

Your existing tariff, though high during peak looks hard to beat. Especially given that you won’t use much peak energy. Most EV peak tariffs are around 44p at the moment. I’m on Octopus 6hrs at 10p the rest is 44p.
All chargers should be made to display current cost in a large illuminated sign above the charger, just like petrol stations do. Some owners will plug in without realising the stupid high costs that some are charging.
Some dealers blame margins saying that they have to obtain volumes to be profitable and this leaves little room.

That’s terrible! It would really wind me up. Shows a complete lack of care or consideration for what might happen in the future to the drilled panel. Once again it takes the shine off what should be an enjoyable new car. Coupled with the power issue now I see ?
Cheaper than what and in what way? That is the question. New EV’s are still relative to ICE expensive to buy. Also EV servicing in some cases is every 12 months and many ICE every 2 years - there’s not much in it at the moment as unnecessary EV servicing is rife.
