I have not read the complete thread - but you can get in car cd players that will either plug into usb or connect wirelessly. Wouldn’t this be a simpler option for those insistent on clinging on to the past?

If you can use the work charger for a little longer than 4 hours it will cover your commute and give you a small buffer. Is there a limit of 4 hours? If not then just fill up every day at work.

30kwhr battery is too small for regular longer trips. It’s a town car really.

I can’t help thinking that more petrol cars using more petrol compared to diesels being more frugal and using less fuel must be a close call on pollution. I guess it’s all about the particulates that diesel produces?

Many people have now switched from diesel to petrol since it was demonised. The petrol vehicles that replaced them generally get even less mpg, especially around town.

There’s always been an issue selling relatively new cars privately (except in exceptional times). The issue is mostly around finance - people like PCP’s and don’t buy cash that often in comparison. We are moving into a buyers market at the moment as well.

Don’t forget that having a bottom buffer is also important.

I would - it depends on price and your situation. I don’t need a 1000miles range and charge on cheap Tariff at home. The early battery cars will be around for a good while, technology will change but it‘s all about cost and demand.

How does it ‘beat’ fwd? Doesn’t it depend on a lot of factors? I.e power output, type of car, weight distribution, vehicle weight, size of car, size of battery pack etc. Do you have any details evidence of the many manufacturers planning to go to rwd?
