    Trade off

I think MG have got it about right with the MG4. Remember that if you change the gearing for better acceleration at the hit to top end, you will be quite a bit less efficient on long fast road journeys (e.g. motorways and A roads) as you will be using a higher power level for the speed than it...

    MG4 Battery Degradation

The long range battery is 64kWh total capacity with 61.7kWh usable. So I assume the 2.3kWh difference is the top buffer. About 3.5% of the total.

Tyre Pressure Settings & TPMS warnings

TPMS is a mandatory requirement on all new vehicles since November 2014.

    Does Android Auto Eat Power

Personally I connect Android Audio through the USB cable which negates the need for a separate dongle and also charges the phone at a faster rate than the wireless charging pad. I always finish a journey with more charge in my phone than when I began.

    £7k discount ended?

It was up to £2.5k for a car, the £7.5k was for taxis, but that's all ended a while ago.

    Regen strength

Regen normal from 98% on my Trophy. Had a few anxious moments after a full charge and needing to press the brakes much harder.

    MG4 Range

After a 10-mile rural trip today I had 5.6mpkwh when I arrived, climate on, NORMAL and regen 3, but there was some slow traffic on the way.

    Charging whilst inside the car?

Not sure about others but I don't have to power down or lock my Trophy to start charging, it will begin as soon as it has finished handshaking with the charger, even with doors/boot open or me sitting in the drivers seat.

MG4 iSmart loses car while charging

When I checked my car with the app about 9am this morning it would not respond, that was after driving into work and arriving around 7:30am. I don't think it's as simple as a set duration.

MG4 iSmart loses car while charging

IMHO it doesn't lose the iSmart connection due to the charge, I can view mine during charging without any issues, it loses the connection due to sleep/timeout when the car has been inactive for a period of time and has been covered in several other posts. Unlocking the car will "wake" it from...

Cell balancing on LR MG4 with Zappi

I charge on a Zappi at work, normally up to 80% but go to 100% once or twice a month. I have always seen cell balancing on the full charge, usually drawing about 200W for a period of time.

    Rear windscreen demister

I know we all drive in different places and conditions but after almost 3,000 miles in my Trophy I've not had an issue with my rear window, never had to specifically clean it due to salt, dirt or rain, it's only ever cleaned (infrequently) with the rest of the car. It clears very well. I came...

    MG app MG4

I agree it would be good to have the option to defrost the windscreen, that seems to be a real oversight unfortunately. I find putting the temperature up to 25 degrees via the app clears the car pretty well in the 10 minutes allowed even in very cold weather.

    Android auto not working well

I've had this a few times, usually just unplugging your phone and then plugging it back in again will work. I think there's often a bit of lag with the system getting Android Auto going correctly.

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

You can set it at 1, 2 or 3 lines - what those lines equate to is anyone's guess.

    Non-Charging

My Trophy was still powered on and charged. Hopped right out the drivers seat, plugged in charger, entered code on the Zappi, charge commenced while the car was still powered on.

    Non-Charging

Just to throw a curveball here, my Trophy will charge on the 22kW Zappi at work whether the doors are open or closed, locked or unlocked. For the last few months I've been locking all the doors as I put it on charge when I get to work, but over the Christmas break I've popped in to charge and...

MG4 Steering Wheel Shortcuts for HVAC and Regen?

It defaults back to regen 3 but I never change it anyway.

MG4 Steering Wheel Shortcuts for HVAC and Regen?

I have my left set up to activate the 360 camera, the right for the HVAC. I never adjust my regen from level 3 so didn't see the point of putting it on the short cut.

    MG4 Trophy Headlights

Personally I find the lights on my Trophy to be really great, others have mentioned that their lights needed adjusting so suggest you try that first. I think the right light should be slightly different to the left because of oncoming traffic, but that may not be correct.
