MG4 tyre pressures - comfort and economy

Coming from 3 years in a hybrid I tend to add 1-2psi to the recommended tyre pressures, which does definitely help with economy. Just remember not to go too far over and you will also need to check and adjust frequently as conditions change. As for economy on my Trophy, I'm averaging 3.7...

    ISmart Connection lost

Several weeks on and I am still no further with my iSmart unbind/bind. I changed my phone and thought it would access on the new phone by logging in with the same details, it doesn't. Unfortunately I sent my old phone away for a trade-in and had already factory reset it before that, so...

    Energy Consumption Chart

I get nothing on the energy consumption chart, also a Trophy. Doesn't bother me too much but it would be nice to see the information.

    Seat Comfort?

I find the seats in my Trophy very comfortable. The difference between many other cars is that you sit "in" the seat of an MG4, not "on" them like many other cars with hard seats. The first layer of sponge gives nicely to mould to your body, the harder sponge underneath then supports. The side...

    MG4 USB-C charging Android phone

The holes have a split to allow cables to pass through, it's a bit of a faff but possible.

    Trophy 100% charge range etc

I should imagine the calculated range will be different for everyone as it uses your recent data for driving, conditions etc. Based on my battery percentage mine is showing a maximum range of 250 miles, calculated at 203 miles at 80% charge. But I'm not likely to go below 20-30 miles range left...

    Charging to 100%

You cannot use 22kW charging unless you have a 3-phase supply, unlikely in a domestic setting in the UK. 3-phase supply is mostly industrial.

    Old Cars

My first car was a brown Datsun 1200 Estate on an "L" plate, I think that was 1972.

    I smart app

I loaded up the old phone to see if it was still bound, or if I could unbind. It's not bound any more and logs in with the same credentials as my new phone. I'll try deleting the app on my old phone but can't see that doing anything.

    I smart app

No qr code displayed, nothing to do with brightness. I've tried all settings, it's just not there. Think I'll pop into the dealer at some point and see if they can bind it for me.

    I smart app

I've watched all the videos, read all the advise, still cannot get the qr code up. I'm either a numpty or there is something going on to stop me.

    I smart app

I have logged in with my previous credentials but that doesn't bind the car to my new phone unfortunately. I cannot figure out how to get the small qr code up for binding.

    I smart app

I'm having problems with the app at the moment, changed my phone yesterday, was fine with my previous phone but now cannot get the qr code up to pair with my new phone. Not a problem logging into the app itself just re-pairing with the new phone.

    Dashcam

I understand what you are saying but my method requires zero electrical knowledge and involves nothing more complicated than pulling the door seal away for a small section, plus a few cable ties to hold the wire tidy. If I can do it then anyone can - and save £200 as well.

    Dashcam

I just ran the cable from the 12V supply socket around the passenger door (inside the rubber seal) then across the windscreen tucking into headliner edge. 30 minutes maximum. Dashcam comes on as soon as I get into the car.

    Keyless entry/driving?

Is that in the iSmart app? I haven't actually accessed the app while connected to the car with bluetooth.

    MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

These issues with the MG4 are now becoming worrying, they should have been ironed out already considering the Mulan (Chinese name for the MG4) was released about 3 months ago. Physical issues should not be appearing on non-Chinese cars, software I can understand a little as it's tweaked for each...

    MG Pilot

Via various tests the MG4 is almost completely accurate on speed reading. I wondered if the speedo was linked to GPS data but not sure that would be good if weather prevents a decent GPS link. Safe to say you don't need to add anything onto the displayed speed.
