    Running lead over pavement?

If the trip hazard is under 2.5cm (1inch) there is no legal ground for a claim. If you use a ramp style cover make sure it is under this requirement. Best just to run a nice heavy cable as flat as possible. Check with your local council as they may have bylaws that state something different.

    Running lead over pavement?

I’ve been running my cable over a pavement for nearly 10 years with no issue, all my neighbours are ok with it, my cable is bright yellow and 10m so I can reach further if the space directly outside my rear wall is already taken. My stepson runs a cable up high so it goes overhead as he lives on...

    22kw charging

?? I often get asked about the 12v and find that the alternator example is the easiest to understand.

    22kw charging

That’s great, nice and easy to understand ?? . I’d just add that the 12v DC to DC works like an ice cars alternator powering all the 12v needs from the main battery for a simple comparison ?

Will upgrade all speakers and add a sub

Started my install yesterday, pulled a rear door panel off to check everything out, all looks ok to go ahead. Only issue I’ve found is that my wiring is different to the suggested on here, it seems to be reversed so rear right=pink- and white/brown+ maybe it’s reversed for right hand drive cars...

    22kw charging

Charge point or charging station is probably the usual description but yes charger is used ??. Using charger confuses the issue for newbies as they will be under the impression that using a 22kw public ‘charger’ will mean they get 22kw charging (as here in this thread). Best to be aware of the...

    22kw charging

Just to confuse things a bit more; the AC charge points in car parks and at home are not chargers they are 230v AC power supplies. Either single phase 7.4kw, or 3 phase 22kw. You can use any of these no matter what the charger is in the car. The charger in the car converts the AC to DC and will...

He is 75cm from floor to shoulder 95cm floor to top of head (standing) 125cm from nose to base of tail. A big fluffy thing.

    MG4 mud flaps

He fits ok, he’s very long in the body and tall. I had a ZS and a MG5 and the MG5 has the best boot space out of the 3 (although hight wise he crouched a bit), ZS is a little taller space wise. For Kobi dog the MG4 is much easier to get in and out as the rear sill is much lower and shorter so...

    MG4 mud flaps

Did a 560 mile weekend road trip to Cornwall and no noticeable difference in efficiency, 2.7 bar front and rear, 42kg German Shepard in the boot, me and one passenger, luggage, 6-8°c, heat and aircon, rain for half the outward journey, night time on the return and matched previous journey I did...

    MG4 V2L cable

Thanks for posting my video I was just about to add it. I’ll be testing with my twin induction hob soon ready for camping and will be running a generator cable and switch to power up the house taking advantage of the cheaper night tariff during the day.

    Some MG4 Upgrades

Thanks, glad the videos are useful. It is a quick job but took me much longer as neighbours kept asking me questions about the car ??

    Some MG4 Upgrades

The struts make it more convenient and easier in wind and bad weather especially once I have a Frunk under there. I’ve not noticed the boot hatch being heavy though, you can probably find different strength boot struts you just need the correct length

    Some MG4 Upgrades

Cheers! I’ll be installing the speakers in the next few days so will video the process too. I’ll be updating some of my electric vehicle and battery pack projects on YouTube too, I built an ebike using Nissan Leaf battery cells so need to get on with documenting that ??

    Some MG4 Upgrades

I’ve been adding some upgrades to my MG4 and have posted some YouTube videos that may help anyone looking to add some extras. So far I’ve added mud flaps, hydraulic bonnet struts, mats, test of the vehicle to load. And now have all the kit together to upgrade the speakers and waiting for a boot...

Upgrade old MG4 Speaker to JBL

Looks good. I’m just about to do do mine, apparently the rear speaker output from the head unit is low-pass filtered only so just a mid drive without tweeter will be OK (I’ll test when installed) I’ll get on with my install when it stops raining here ? and post up the results. ….. did you fit...

Will upgrade all speakers and add a sub

I have everything ready now to upgrade the speakers, I’ve built many custom systems over the years, modern head units and wiring are always a challenge. Great tip above about the rears being low-pass, I have a pair of old (new in box) Pro-Plus 6.5” mids that I‘ve used in the past as they are...

MG4 with loading space in front?

I’m looking at adapting a boat deck storage trunk, ordered some bonnet struts (will make it easier to use) and will be measuring up later so will have a clearer idea. I don’t need the extra space really as plenty of options inside the car but will be an interesting project. Just as a side note...
