Ours you can definitely feel the edge now round the lettering. Feels like it is starting to lift at the edge.
Another thing in the list to mention to the dealer
The average speed on the UK network is not much more than 58mph.

There is an anomaly around the end of 2020 due to covid restrictions meaning less traffic on the roads
But they can stop you leaving with a trolley full of shopping without paying.
Other than stopping the cable from releasing what method could be used to stop people charging and not having the means to pay
I heartily agree and was pleased to receive an email from GeniePoint today to say they are changing all chargers to contactless Pay As You Go. An £8 pre-authorisation charge is acceptable and they are doing away with having to load up their app or having to use it
On a slightly different note, can a charger detect what car (make or model) is connected.
If (for example hypothetically :D) a family member received free membership to a network with their new (non MG) EV would it be detectable if a differing make was to use it?
Point was that if you choose to enrol in these schemes then you gain some reward, just like joining a subscription for cheaper charging.
If you chose not to join them then you do not get any rewards
That I can accept. I don't mind if I pay slightly higher (within reason) than someone who either subscribes or is prepared to let their data be harvested/used by the supplier. No different to having a Nectar or Tesco Club Card and being rewarded with points and discounts
I have a select few...
Why? I don't drive around oblivious to gauges/indications/GOM. I can easily see when the battery is getting low even if GOM gives contrary advice.
I think I said if the upcoming journey is going to differ from that on which the current range is calculated then a reset may be in order
The range for an ICE vehicle would be calculated on the current mpg achieved (not the manufacturer's figures), so why not base your EV range on your current performance rather than the manufacturers.
Surely resetting after every charge just then gives you the same estimation (163 miles or...
I am not sure why many people advocate the continual resetting of the accumulated data.
When I charge and set off on a journey I want to see the estimated range based on my current/past driving performance which I intend to continue, not based on a factory set figure under ideal conditions...
And at that point I thank them very much and explain to them that even though they are now matching other quotes the fact that they chose to treat me as a mug and not a loyal customer has cost them the business.
Any network that wants me to put my money in their coffers so I can use their app or card is automatically rejected. I will use a contactless debit card but I am not loading up an app with my money on the off chance I might want to use their charger.
And yet this is a pleasant surprise. According to the Gridserve article it is 30p at an electric hub and 24p at a service area. So "filling up" at a motorway services could be cheaper than going off route to an Instavolt, Osprey etc unlike with fossil fuels
I did try resetting and no joy so I did have to leave it.
Came back after an hour or so to reset again, unlock, unplug, try the dance again and finally have success.
I hope someone sometime can work out a reliable sequence
Currently at a wedding and have tried all sort of voodoo dances (and mutterings) but still will be connected but not charging. Even tried the Tesla only charger but no different
