Hi Henri8 , yes it may be just down to the average temperature.
So today I did 36miles ( 58KM) before the ICE kicked in. It is cold here in the UK 9c 48 F
I charged to 100% then I swapped the units over to show km and it showed 52 km of range , that = 32 miles. How strange if it's the same 16kw battery etc
Hi Amazon , I don't really know at present , as I am doing shirt trips up to 10 miles , then charge it up when there is less than 10 miles range left.
I'm sure Henri8 only shows 52 km h When I get a longer drive over 32 miles I will have to do it in pure EV and see what range I get
How strange , as 63 km = 39 miles, but on my display it only shows 32 miles at 100%.
But my economy figures show I should be getting 39 miles easily.
Now I'm confused on what its telling me
Hi Ozzie Mick I forgot to mention the reason I manually switched between hybrid and ev mode. This is because in hybrid mode , once you start driving you are in ev, but go over 25 mph (40kmh) and it switches to ICE . I'm guessing why you had battery left after your 75 km trip was because you were...
Hi Mick
yes it would be nice , but I doubt it.
When I did a longer trip , then I had a rough guess when I wanted to use it in EV mode ( not on the motorway , where I do 70mph ) so I manually switched the EV mode on in Urban driving. When I got to the motorway , I manually switched it to hybrid...
I saw on only 1 review of the HS PHEV saying 12.5 kw was available for use ( out of the 16) , for the EV mode.
The reason I ask is my accumulated figures show I am achieving 3.7 miles per kwh, so multiply that by 12.5 =46.25 miles.
I know we don't have a guess o'meter (GOM) but why when I charge...
Hi All
I see on the Full EV sections on the forum that they talk a lot about charging ( should you charge to 100%) and also battery balancing.
Well I always fully charge the battery and I've no idea if we need to do any battery balancing
Anybody have any thoughts
Hi all
As I'm new to the Phev , I thought I would share my fuel economy and see what others are getting.
I know going forward I will probably just accept what I'm getting and have less interest, but for now I am interested in what I'm getting.
If I'm reading this right , then its looking good...
I asked miles here in the UK about this and this is his reply
The slight "stall" is the unusual effect of having an electric motor working on a 2 speed gearbox. It uses the gears on the EV side to effectively give you 10 gears overall (with the Petrol engine and motor working together). When...
Hi g4rth thanks for the reply , but those fit the GS model ( has a space between the roof rails and the car roof) but will not fit the HS , where there is no gap.
I may have found a set , so will purchase them and put my results on here to help others who may wish to have some
John
I replaced a 6 year old kia ceed with the MG HS PHEV. Its a 1st step to a full EV but with no range anxiety. I'm loving the EV experience so far, so already thinking in 18 months time when my 2nd car finishes its PCP term , I will be seriously looking for a full EV to replace it with.
Hi Henri8
Very impressive consumption figures and yes an expensive golf buggy , but far more luxurious than the normal golf buggy you see on golf courses LOL
Changed my profile
thanks
Hi Paolop
Yes using the EV part for all ( or most) of the journeys will give a good l/100km.
But if you do longer distances all the time, so using the ICE more , then it get less economic, and really a PHEV is not the car for that.
For myself the plan is ( hopefully lol) the 90-95% normal...
Hi Paolop
I'm not really sure the petrol consumption and I'm not sure how you see it, ( perhaps others on here can give a better reply) but I can give you a guesstimate.
This is based on the video from Miles of Chorley who when using it on petrol only ( after the battery was flat) said it...
