    Free home charger

If it's a fairly old installation I would guess that the fuse is not 100amp. The electricians often refer to the size of the "tails" under the meter.........it gives them some idea of the fuses, but I don't know how they are measured!!

    Free home charger

@Kithmo You can easily see the main fuse amperage for yourself, they are marked 60, 80 or 100amps. Many properties today have 100amp fuses as standard installation.

    Free home charger

Upgrading the main fuse to 100amp is recommended when installing a home charger. The work is carried out by Power Network UK or whoever has taken over from National Grid in your part of the country........and it's FREE!

Do you stick to the manufacturer's recommended tyre pressures?

When I picked my car up from the dealer, all the tyre pressures were 37 psi - I checked on two different gauges - and I reduced the pressures to 34.5 psi cold. (my manual said 34 psi). However now the TPMS always shows 36.5 psi which I suppose would be about right for the pressures when the...

MG ZS EV and Zappi 2 charging problem.

I received my MGZS EV on 31 Jan 2020 but have no idea which if any updates the car has! I have Zappi v2 with Hub and Eddie 2.093 together with solar panels. Using ECO Charge mode during May and June I have had several excellent charges showing between 87% to 92% solar power. No problems but...

    Charging Port problem

I've experienced problems when trying to open or close the charging port. Pressing the MG badge does not always release the door for charging until several attempts are made with the car locked and then unlocked. Similarly after charging it is difficult to lock the charging door. After the door...

SOS NEED DETAILS OF UPDATES URGENTLY!!!!

Phoned my local dealer to ask about updates and was informed by their technical/service department that no updates were available at present but if there were any problems with the car they would be pleased to investigate and remedy the situation, but they advised against any 'unnecessary'...

    ZS EV fuel efficiency

I went out for a trip yesterday, the first time for several weeks, and it was great to drive the MG again. I travelled about 50 miles on A and B roads so no great speeds involved and on the way realised that the heater was on, so then turned it off! The efficiency recorded for the trip was 4.4...

    Accessories - Spare bulbs

Does anyone know if a spare set of bulbs is available for the MGZS EV? Not that I am going anywhere at the present time but some countries require that a spare set of bulbs is carried at all times.

    Wheel Specification

Chrispydoc Thanks for this information. I see that the recommended pressure is 60psi........I'll have to check to see if my inflator could reach that high! Is there enough room in the boot well for a full size wheel (after changing wheel!) And another query, can this skinny fit front and rear...

    Wheel Specification

Chrispydoc, was the spare wheel that you bought a 'skinny' or a full size spare wheel? And did it have an omni directional tyre fitted? Although I have'nt had a puncture for years (tempting fate!) I hate being without a spare wheel.

MG ZS EV has no under-engine bay splash shield

When I inspected the ZS EV in the showroom I was most impressed with the spacious under bonnet engine bay. I looked down and saw what I thought was a sealed tray beneath the 'motor'...........it was several weeks later when I took another look under the bonnet and then realised that I had been...

MG ZS EV has no under-engine bay splash shield

I'm surprised that the underside of the 'engine' bay is not sealed.........the Rover 75 and others were well protected. I can imagine that driving through a large puddle or flooded road would allow water to be scooped up into 'engine' bay and all those HV electrics! If anyone comes up with an...

    MG ZS EV delivery confirmed

Mines locked away in the garage also........for how long I wonder? It raises the question of what state of charge should the battery be left in for an indefinite period? I read somewhere (can't remember where!) that the battery should NOT be left charged to 100%. Any views on this?
