I tried switching it on a couple of days ago from the app with the car unplugged and it wouldn't switch on. I know the app was working as I preheated the cabin. Edit: tried it just now and it works, so it appears just the battery section of the app must have not been working last time.

I think there are other posts on this. IIRC the solution was to polish it up and some had it done under warranty.

I won't be buying any new cars that don't remember and retain the user settings, MG or other. It's a ridiculous situation where you have to set everything up every time before you can drive off.

I think the dealers are trying to offload new ones to make way for new models coming out soon. I don't know why the second hand prices are so high, but I suspect there is a bigger demand for second hand cars than new cars at the moment and some people would rather save a few grand.
