Still using the same as you mate, Its been fine, just takes ages to balance out after a charge on the home charger is all, I've got it booked in middle of April to have it updated and an unrelated issue of "clicky steering wheel" to be looked at. The garage I'm taking it to know their stuff as...
Yeah, it could have been much worse, haha. I generally tend to find that about 2 out of 3 dealers have no idea what they are talking about. At least that is the case with me.. Literally 2 out of the 3 dealers around me have no idea :D
Yeah, It looks like you've got the "slightly dodgy" BMS version that I and several others have, overall it's fine It just takes a LOOONG time to equalise at the tail end of charging.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the case, I tried this on mine a while ago, it was balancing at the time, but when I plugged it back it, it didn't resume balancing.
I'm not sure mate, I try and equalise every time I charge if I have the time (as I don't want to make anything worse potentially) I think (I've heard) that the car stops after 10 hours anyway? And I don't think that mine ever finishes.
For example this Saturday I plugged the car in at 10 AM and...
Just picked it up, told them I work for the NHS and I NEED the car for the weekend, they wanted to know if I wanted to leave the car on the weekend and they'll try again Monday, that wasn't going to happen.
It appears they've done nothing in the 2+ days they had it, the steering wheel click...
Wow ok, not using this garage again. Apparently MG technical are working remotely on my car now (which I know means they've messed up something) I also mentioned that they've had it since Wednesday afternoon and I've spent more on taxi fares to and from work over the last 2 days than I've spent...
I'll certainly be doing it to make sure! They told me earlier they couldn't do the updates as the MG website was down (which is entirely possible I suppose) however they did look at the unrelated to software issue of the "clicky" steering wheel like I asked.. so at least they actually managed to...
Well this is going well (not really) garage have had the car since yesterday afternoon and it won't be ready today (I think) they were querying where I got my information from and they sounded like they didn't even know where to get this information from MG.. I told them to just plug it in and...
Ergh, If I was working from home maybe, unfortunately I'm still at work full time (NHS yay?) So I'll need the car up until the point I take it in.. then it's taxi to work the day after till it's done :(
Probably the easiest thing to do I'd imagine, not sure if there is any easier way to do it (well there are a couple of ways but YouTube is by far the easiest) ?
Have my car booked in for updates on Thursday, so will be interested to see what (if any) difference it makes. I'll be checking anyway once it's done to make sure things have changed, haha. Knowledge is a dangerous thing ?
Yep, every single time. I know what you mean about the software, when I can actually get to a garage to have the BMS updated I'll do so, It doesn't really bother me about the time, But I know that is "the norm" for that BMS version (As far as I'm aware)
New reg in Sept 2020, I've used a rapid charger once since I've bought it and that was just to try it out, haha. Charged at home on the weekend after the work week ?
