Your situation might be different from mine but the best bit of advice I got when I ordered my car was to get a tethered charger. It is so much more convenient. I went with podpoint which has been fine and works well for me but I think there are smarter options out there.
The MG4 is a bit of a different case because you can unlock and drive it using your phone. The MG5 only allows unlock.
I don't have direct experience but I can't imagine an add-on tracker being any better than the built in GPS that tells the app where the car is.
Its charging it to 100% but the range prediction is based on what the driving conditions have been like for the last few (does anyone know how many) miles and so it predicts that 100% will only get you 137 miles of range.
Speed is the main variable that you have control over.
I'm not sure that smooth acceleration makes as much difference in an EV as it does in an ICE.
Seat heaters are more efficient but without the heating on the screen will mist up.
Eco mode seems to make a bit of difference but makes the car...
OK, understood. Unfortunately you can't see if the Tesla update has been done. Even if you use an ODB reader there is no way to tell. A dealer could plug the car in and tell you but that relies on the dealer knowing what you are talking about and that is not guaranteed.
The only way for a non...
Sorry, I meant which system? The MG isn't like a Tesla with one unified software release. Each part has its own software and the version numbers aren't easy to discover. The one thing that you can see is the infotainment version number. Mine is a FL so isn't much use to you.
Its hard to be confident about depreciation of something that is getting cheaper to produce every year. There is very little intrinsic reason for EVs to be more expensive than ICE cars. They have a lot less parts than need putting together and the main expense is the battery which are coming...
There is no useful history for EVs that are getting cheaper all the time. Basing a decision on what someone had to pay for a car 4 years ago, when all the electronic chip production was going into games consoles because of covid, seems odd. My guess is that if you buy a new EV now it will...
I did mine after following this thread Naviextras Satnav Update available. I seem to remember that a) I had to delete the VN.txt file and b) it took so long to start that I thought it wasn't going to work.
Thanks for the post but its not quite as helpful as it might seem. There is no real clue where the stoppers are or where to press them. It might mean squeeze the entire glove box but it feels as though I'd break it if I tried to do that.
Tricky question to answer. If you are having the car serviced at the same time then they can be quite generous about the updates. If they are recall updates they should do them for free. It would be useful to find out if the car already has the EVCC update to charge at Tesla chargers but you...
Has anyone got a video of how to remove the glove box? I'd like to take a look at the pollen filter but I can't work out where and in what direction to pull the glove box to get it out.
It's RHS in mine. I think it is in the settings but I cant remember exactly where. I think it isn't exactly obvious what the setting is for as it is worded as though it needs to know which side of the driver the screen is on.
