I think you've been unlucky. It sounds like the car thinks there is something wrong with the HV battery and if you've been given the choice of a refund I'd take it.

To be fair, I don't suppose many people are still using MP3 players rather than their phones these days. Good luck with the Bluetooth adapter. I didn't use mine for all that long but it did solve a particular problem.

Does the MP3 player have Bluetooth? If not, it used to be possible to buy a Bluetooth adapter that you plug into a headphone socket. I used to have one to get a signal from a LW radio to a Bluetooth crash helmet. I don't know if you can still get them.

The regen setting doesn't change how the car uses regen when you press the brakes. It only affects what happens when you take you foot off of the throttle.
