    Condensation

I wouldn't drive in ECO mode unless you really need to. One of the things it does is cut down the fan speed. You need the AC on to keep the windows clear. Even then, If you have a car full of people on a damp day you will need to put the screen demister on occasionally. Fortunately it has its...

New Owner - Passenger Doors Not Opening From Inside on MG5 Facelift – Normal or Fault?

It was this sentence that I was thinking of: "The MG5 doors should open cleanly on the first pull, just like the driver’s door does."

New Owner - Passenger Doors Not Opening From Inside on MG5 Facelift – Normal or Fault?

The more I see from AI the more I think it is just like some people. Confidently and eloquently completely wrong. Definitely not normal. On mine, my wife gives the handle a pull to unlock then second pull to open. She never takes her hand away from holding the handle.

New Owner - Passenger Doors Not Opening From Inside on MG5 Facelift – Normal or Fault?

I don't think it is you. It sounds like an actual problem. I can't imagine it will help but it might be worth doing a hard reset of the car (disconnect the 12v battery for a couple of minutes). Good luck with MG.

New Owner - Passenger Doors Not Opening From Inside on MG5 Facelift – Normal or Fault?

You do have to pull the handle twice on the passenger side if the door is locked. the first pull unlocks and the second one opens the door. I don't know about the rear doors. Are they childlocked?

MG5 FL (MY24) manual speed limiter - how to?

I never use it but I think you need to push the stalk forwards to switch to speed limiter then back towards you to get back to cruise control.

Interesting Pod Point charging failure (and fix)

I got the impression from pod point that the problem had been going on for a while and that the charger only shut itself down after a number of days of faults. This morning the reading is 208 but the charger is working at the moment. I've done a report to UK power networks - It will be...

Interesting Pod Point charging failure (and fix)

An update: Something similar happened today so I got out the Granny charger which worked fine. This is going to surprise people - I called Pod Point, got straight through (after negotiating the first level robot) and the support operator was excellent. She checked the charger history and agreed...

Interesting Pod Point charging failure (and fix)

So, woke up this morning to find a red light on the Pod Point charger and the car at 82% rather than the 100% I had set it to. Reset the car and tried again. It connected for about 30seconds and then errored again. Reset the Pod Point by turning it off at the isolator and back on again - same...

    Recall ABS

I've not heard from them about mine. I'm due a service next month so I'll ask then.

    Rear screen washer failure.

If it was me, I'd get the dealer to look at it. Mainly because of the possibility that the electrics underneath the join have been affected. It will be easier to make the subsequent warrantee claim if the dealer had done the pipe fix. That said, it's easy for me, I'm retired and have time to...

    MG5 SW 2022 chargin issues

The charging should get very much better when the weather warms up. I've occasionally seen mine touch 80kW (but never for very long). The brakes just get a bit grubby and rusty because they don't get used much. This can make them a bit noisy especially in winter. I try to remember to do some...

    Rear screen washer failure.

I've used clips like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326094190903 when I've needed a fix to be properly permanent. I haven't had the washer pipe problem on my car yet so I don't know the size you would need.

    Recommend a 12V battery please

I would want a lot of security to have something with 400V permanently switched on. I'm fairly sure it would. The same as an ICE car.

    Recommend a 12V battery please

    3. Should come first. After that, I agree that you might as well change the battery - its cheaper than taking it to the dealer to be examined.

Newbie here - considering buying MG5 sub £10k

I didn't either but Colne, Burnley and Blackburn are all 70p or more.

    Recommend a 12V battery please

I hope that it isn't your MG that's needed the booster.

    Recommend a 12V battery please

Short runs don't make much difference to an EV. It hasn't had to pump out 3 or 400 amps into a starter motor to get the engine running. all it has to do is fire up the computer and flick the switch on the main battery. A booster jump starter doesn't need to be expensive. You can pretty much buy...

    VOTE TESLA SUPERCHARGES with MG5

Although that is definitely true, my understanding is that early MG5s with the bug were occasionally locking up Tesla chargers and putting them out of action. Tesla then put in a check for the specific issue and prevented cars that displayed that problem from connecting. Either way it was very...
