    12v Battery ?

The smart charging seems to work well on my car. I've had no trouble. It seems to kick in when battery voltage drops to12.3v, but I believe only activates if main battery is above a certain charge.

    12v Battery ?

Another possible cause of flat battery is turning off auto lights and then switching them on manually and then parking up without turning them off. Some versions of the car do not have an alarm to warn you lights have been left on. Already discussed on another thread.

    MG4 service plan

I knew those was too good to be true!!! So I just got a quote from MG website for 374 for 3 years including MOT. As I wanted to pay in full, the quote told me to contact my chosen dealer and pay direct to them on the given number which turned out to be a sofa company. So eventually called my...

    MG4 service plan

Thanks for making me aware of this. My dealer, Arnold Clark wanted 300 quid a year for servicing which I obviously declined. Now it transpires if I get a quote direct from the MG website and if I want to pay in full I then contact Arnold Clark myself quoting the quote ref and effectively get...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I was going to cover up that camera next and see what happens. Don't know if anyone has tried this yet.

    Cruise control

Set the adaptive part to one of the three bars which if you let it will allow your MG to run up close to the car in front. I agree it's no use on roads with bends. The first time I used it was on a motorway and it suddenly braked down from 55 to 40 mph almost causing a rear end shunt. I've done...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

According to the sales literature it uses both front camera and radar. I stuck some insulating tape over my front bumper camera last week and did few short low speed journeys in it. No error messages. Unfortunately LKA still activates but appeared a bit softer. Can't tell if the harsh ELK was...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

If you have the SE I don't think that has the Emergency Lane Keeping, ELK, (appears in sub menu of LKA), that steers you into ditches and oncoming traffic. There is also some people mentioning that on earlier models they can permanently turn it off. Your lucky. If your happy with it don't let a...

MG4 raised boot floor on Trophy

First thing I did with my Trophy was remove the false floor and polystyrene in which air pump was set. Bought a boot floor liner from AliExpress and now have a normal size boot space.

MG4 - Am I right in thinking this could be the right fit for me?

I agree. I'm 2months into owning an ev and did lots of thinking, and arithmetic before buying a full electric, though have still retained an ICE at present as its more economical on long journeys where i would have to use public charging. IMO if you can't do home charging then forget about ev...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I think most Trophys reset to full "kamikaze" mode each trip. I believe earlier models may have be able to turn it off permanently so you must be one of the lucky ones. It is the Emergency Lane Keeping, ELK, that appears in the sub menu of LKA that appears to cause the dangerous white knuckle...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

So your Trophy does not reset LKA to the default (most severe) settings every journey or whenever the drivers door is opened?

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I had two half hour test drives in an SE where it was put through its paces on rural roads. LKA never activated once. My Trophy activates it about every minute, that's if I forget to turn it off which is a right pain. It's a waste of time complaining to the dealer. I've been intending on...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I agree, LKA is extremely dangerous. Its already been established on other threads that for some reason the Trophy has the most severe LKA. To an extent it depends on the type of roads you use. I'm mostly A and B class rural roads. Without exaggeration I will declare the car is pretty much...

    My First AA call out!

I've just noticed this too. Virtually all cars for past few decades have alarms that go off if you open drivers door to leave to remind you to turn off lights but not my Trophy. I've stood and watched for a while in case there is a delay but there doesn't seem to be one. I dare this is...

Poor LKA not just an issue for MG4

I usually turn off lka in my pre flight routine however don't usually for a short journey i usually do with speed limit 40mph for half mile. I just grip steering wheel harder. Last time it tried to steer me into an oncoming car. I looked back at dashcam footage as I was going to post it and sent...

Left Shortcut Button - Disable climate control shortcut message

I also get this message. What annoys me is that when I press the star button the a/c control screen will only appear for a split second and I have to be very quick to make any adjustments before it reverts back to the main display. Half the time I don't make it and have to press the star button...

    Active Grille system

Shouldn't be a problem for me. When it's been cold I have just told the wife to wear a hat gloves and scarf and when it warms up she will just have to open a window. Need to maximise m/kwh?.

    Active Grille system

I would have thought there might be some.sort of symbol appearing on one of the displays when it opens up. I take it there isn't one? I didn't expect it ro open up until ambient temp is about 20 degrees which is almost never in Scotland.
