One for the Driving Instructors: Can You Use Auto Hold in a Driving Test?

The law states you should apply the brake when stopped at lights. Much to my chagrin my boys were taught, by professionals in a manual car, to keep their foot on the brake, the clutch engaged and in gear to pass their test as it was easier for learners. Thus, yes you can use auto hold.

    Dealer inauthenticity - AIBU?

Most (all) salesmen want to talk to clients, preferably face-to-face. Do not think this behaviour is unique to MG.

Did iSmart on Android get updated yesterday?

Wowza. I am a 13 hour flight from home at the minute and the app is working better than when the car sat outside the house. It is working as it should Hurrah. The change to km from Imperial gave a big clue, I ignored :)

Charging my MG4 at Tesla Superchargers in Exeter

No the Tesla system was originally set up for Teslas alone. It opens the charging port for the car and knows the car and who to charge, the driver only has to plug the car in, everything else is handled by Tesla. The concept of needing to identify yourself and pay is alien to their system. This...

Charging my MG4 at Tesla Superchargers in Exeter

It costs nothing to set up and enter your card details. I don't need to charge often away from home but the simplicity of their systems makes me think I will go for one of their cars next.

My view so far - negative reviews?

There are a lot of folk on here who love their 4's and no car is 100% perfect :)

Scheduled charging - what am I doing wrong.

I have just upgraded my wifi and have some BT mesh wifi surplus to requirements, very cheap and collectable in Huntingdon if that could help you (PM me). I had some issues charging which I raised on here. I now do not touch the MG App for charging The cheap times the car can charge are set by...

\My route to Scotland is A1, A66, M6. 140 miles to get to Harrogate Tesla @ 33p and a rather nice country store rather than 79p and the dismal Tebay services. Adding 50% charge more than offsets the monthly charge and that gets me through to Larkhall on the outskirts of Glasgow. Thank you Mr Musk.

Drink / Drive over the limit

Sitting slightly tipsy in my motorhome at present in a public place, I am not too concerned as the blinds are drawn at the front and along one side as I gaze out the other towards the North Sea and Fife. The same circular debate about intent happens on Motorhome forums from time-to-time. No one...

    Cambs to Glasgow and back

The Gretna one is tied onto the back of the BP petrol station which has the usual BP offerings but you could walk further to better amenities while the Carlisle only has a Starbucks although you pass by a large Asda.

    Cambs to Glasgow and back

Yes it was not an exact science but I knew the Ionity was a cert. If Tesla open up their new station at Carlisle then Ionity will be history. One thing yesterday at Harrogate there were Audis using the Tesla machines as the end bay had parking, allowing the car with its rear charging port on the...
