    All Android users, advice please

It may be worth trying a different Bluetooth AVRCP version. You can change this in Android in Developer Options / Bluetooth AVRCP Version. I believe, though, that the amount of meta data that is displayed will depend on the MG end and what level of support they have implemented. Nb going "back"...

    Poor cross wind performance

+1. We've got many deep valleys the autovías cross over here; most with warning signs of high winds and wind socks at each end to give a visual indication. I must agree that ours feels very stable and planted (due to the battery's weight being so low down) and holds its track very well when hit...

    MG4 Custom Greeting messages

It's a constant source of, somewhat puerile, amusement to me to set random greeting messages to annoy the Memsahib when she drives the car. Some of those which have generated feedback are: Have you trodden in something? Hello Sailor. Are you looking for a good time? Please don't pick your nose...

    New cars stressful ??

Never park close to another car that has a baby seat in it. Invariably the 'doting mother' throws the door wide open to insert her boiled sprat dingng your car in the process.

    Disabling built in SIM

I see your point and agree with parts of it, but personally I don't think anyone has got a chance of resisting this in the medium to long term. The reason is that you are paying, say, 500 for fully comprehensive insurance on a 23k car. You run off the road taking a 30 limit corner after a...

    Disabling built in SIM

I don't get why anyone would want to withhold data like that, unless they want to drive like a nutter but don't want the car to relay that to anyone in case it impacts their insurance premium?

That good ol' keeping the 12V battery perky thread repeat.

11.9V for a battery is very low and is heading for problems.

    MG4 Range

On the Spanish MG4 Luxury the heat pump is standard fitting, as is 11kw onboard charger. Rest of spec is Trophy LR. Also standard on Trophy ER and XPower here.

Sea level to 2078m and back range / consumption figures

Yesterday we popped up to Sierra Nevada for an afternoon's skiing in the MG4. If it's of any interest here are the consumption stats from home on the coast at sea level, up to Pradallona at 2078m alt and back again - a round trip of 223km with 2px and skis, boots chucked in the back with the...

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

It's still rather strange, though, that out of the thousands (?) of MG4s sold there's only 5 or 6 reports of this; it can't be a widespread concern and, as I mentioned earlier, the actions required to induce it are, arguably, extraordinary. I'd still very much like to see if as anyone else...

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

I just got it to happen, with a witness! On OPD mode with around 68% of battery, after "coasting" down approx 250m of hill with regen I dabbed the footbrske to stop at the junction. When I took my foot off the brake the car powered backwards for around 1 metre. I suspect that if the...

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

Juries out I've tried a few scenarios in an attempt to force a repeat and am unsure. Under normal driving conditions I can't get it to repeat.. .. But, on one occasion I got a small push back. This was after feathering the accelerator down to nearly a halt (as one would normally when using...

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

Ours is a Luxury, which is equivalent to the UK Trophy but with heat pump and 11kw on board charger. The Infotainment version is R46. We have no issues with any of the driving aids - LKA, Auto dipping lights, Braking, etc, etc are all perfect. Haven't informed the dealer as, to be honest, it...

OPD, car rolls backwards when stopping on downhill slopes (merged thread)

What a coincidence! Two days ago I think a similar thing happened to me. Using OPD, after 'coasting' down hill I pulled off the main road onto a less steep slip road, before braking to a halt on the leveI. I swear the car started reversing back immediately after stopping making me hit the brake...

Traffic lights (etc) best practice - Auto Hold or N?

Anyone got a take on best practice when stopping at the likes of traffic lights? We just press the brake until Auto Hold comes on (or if using One Pedal Driving let it come on automatically). I'm not sure, though, if best practice isn't to shift into N though. The manual, as ever, seems...

    Can’t change radio station

Ours is really picky over favourites on fm (can't comment on dab as there isn't any here in our patch of southern Spain ). It seems as if the signal strength is low then it greys it out and won't play it. Though if you manually tune to that frequency it works - but with occasional drop outs and...

    Seat trim "stitching" colour..

Phew! Thanks for the replies; it would have been an interesting trip back to the dealers!!

    Seat trim "stitching" colour..

Call me dozy, but I've just realised our red Luxury (equiv. UK Trophy) has a blue "stitches" effect on the seats. Shouldn't it match the paint colour, or has anyone else got this kind of mismatch?
